I'm so confused as to why both CGI Jabbas in that scene were so terrible looking, and also with all the obsession of adding pupils into Ewok eyes and changing Shaw's eye color to match Hayden's (not t mention eyebrow removal) that they never got around to fixing that CGI Jabba.

A 2025 CGI rendition of ROTJ83 Jabba in that D94 scene is a change I'd love to see.

Yeah even beyond the bad CG I never understood why they couldn't even get Jabba's look right. It's like they gave him some weird facelift.

Think it would have worked better if George just used the original footage and said this was another henchman named "Jakka" or something.

Yeah, that would be a worthwhile endeavor...a 2025 Special Edition where they fix all the S**t they broke

Given Disney's current track record, I think I agree with DaveJames. Who knows what gender Jabba would end up being.......

Yeah...that's a good point. My wife has me pulling VHS tapes from our kids when they were little into digital and I'm just itching to convert my letterbox original VHS pre-special edition to digital. I do have the 77 and 83 HD redos but don't have the ESB yet...

It was a similar time frame to their work on The Phantom Menace. The CGI Yoda was an absolute abomination in the theatrical release. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should, applies to CGI versus practical puppet Yoda in that case...

Well they didn't go full CGI for Yoda until AOTC, but I get your point. They did a redesign for a "younger" Yoda that also didn't look anything like him.

Ahh, ok. so that was just a poorly designed puppet. I actually really like AOTC Yoda...
