With the new coupon from SS....Considering getting a second Sandtrooper to customize or maybe a Spacetrooper. Any thoughts?

Spacetrooper is a beautiful yang to the ying that is the sandtrooper. Plus you know they'll make more sandtroopers. Spacetrooper probably won't get another chance once this sells out.

Good points. Plus from the Rouge One trailer it looks like there are Sandtroopers in that.

Even the armor on the regular troopers is completely different than the originals. No idea what HT will do in that respect if they make RO-specific figures.

I just picked up the Sandy yesterday, so only 1 more HT figure to buy (Leia) and I'm done (of what's been announced so far). Had to take advantage of the $25 coupon, but I have a feeling we might see bigger discounts on this in the future. Even if it doesn't make it until Spooktacular, I'm sure we'll see Spacetrooper along with multiple TFA figures there.

The only thing that should in theory be different is the quality of the costumes. Given the amount of effect they went through to recreate the Millennium Falcon for TFA, I'd hope they'd do the same for this since it occurs just before ANH.

Look at the teaser. The trooper costumes are significantly different - significant to people who are into details anyway, so the general population won't think anything of it.

Having watched the trailer a couple of times, what I'm seeing is a more symmetrical, polished helmet sculpt; the abdominal armour plates are either broken into more sections or have more strapping; the torso armour definitely has more strapping; the under-suit/body-glove appears to be padded in spots like the elbows; and the back of the belt is vinyl or plastic like a TFA trooper rather than canvas as in the OT.

Additionally, the troopers with pauldrons and backpacks (what we recognize as 'sandtroopers') appear to have the standard knee-plate as opposed to the original, rougher-edged diamond-shaped plates; I'm guessing they will have ridged connecting bridges at the shoulders too, rather than featureless -- and the armour looks to have slightly different, beefier proportions overall, likely to allow for movement, comfort, and larger actors than they used in the '70s and early '80s.

I think you essentially support my point. They just have the ability to do so much more now in terms of costumes. Let's face it, the Sandtroopers in ANH were using WWII surplus for weapons and pouches.

The way I see it this is this covers the shipping plus a little extra. Maybe is you wait you can get a better deal.....or they sell out then everyone jacks the prices up. You won't be disappointed with this figure.

It's a tricky game that I've been trying to play with the recent IM figures...

I would just wait for the sale as long as possible.
Usually SSC is pretty good about letting you know if this goes to WL. I've only seen it maybe once or twice that a figure went from in-stock/pre-order to Out of Stock without going to WL.

I know what you mean, I was one of those waiting on the stormtrooper 2 pack I was very fortunate to get the set from popcultcha a while back during their black friday sale. I keep looking at the stock on BBTS and the sandtrooper hasn't gone down at all so I was hopefully to play the waiting game for SSC to knock off the shipping. If it was the usual flat $10, I would've gotten it already by now but it's quoting me at near $20, along with others like Ren. I know BvS set went to WL without a notice too so I didn't get to slap off a $20 from that which was a bummer so I'm trying to gauge whether this will be the same or not. I just found out there was a $30 off that applies to, so I'm tempted to use that one now... haha

I got mine new on ebay for 205 shipped US seller. I often see it shipped for 215 as well uS. I would keep and eye out.
The only HT figure not ordered from sideshow. I was worried that if something was wrong Id be SOL..just check the sellers rep and save some cash!
