Mine came today. :yess: A couple of quick observations:

I don't find the pack to be particulary fragile. There's a bit of flex in the middle but that's about it.

The pauldron's weathering can be cleaned up with a mild paint remover, I used Gunze-Sangyo Mr. Paint Remover. Acetone will work if you're *very* careful. Denatured alcohol will probably be safer than acetone but I didn't try that. I removed the padding from the inside as well as the elastic strap.

The ammo pouches are much smaller than the pouches that came with the Shadowtrooper. That is a good thing. :)

Why did you remove the padding inside the pauldron?

Should have mine in a week or so !! Just a question if I can justify opening now or wait as a Christmas present with the kids.....what a moral dilemma !!! :)

And why the cleaning of the pauldron ? Are you removing the weathering from the sandy armour too ?? [emoji79][emoji79][emoji79][emoji12]

Best helmet made in a 1/6th posable figure to date.

Not quite - as we already discussed this.

any help?

I didn't like the black-ish overspray, looks like it's been hanging around a greasy motor pool instead of the desert. :) The orange matches the prorotype better with the weathering removed.

...and in fact I did remove some of the armor weathering and am adding some of my own, mostly so that I can change it up a little for some variation. That, I can never leave well enough alone. :cuckoo:

Are you going to weather it to your personal preference?

I get wanting to see it hang like the movie prop, but I'm not sure removing would help with that. Really curious how it came out.

I don't recall making a final verdict on the helmet until it was in hand. But if your saying the Marmit sculpt is better, I would say that while they got many things right, it's just doesn't look like a real stunt helmet to be better. Even if HT got somethings wrong, the signature is the frown and they got the distance right from the frown to the bottom of the mask or top of vocoder direct speaker.

There's just not a more accurate posable 1/6th bucket out there.

The padding is really rigid and prevents the pauldron from laying over the shoulder. To my eye it looks more authenticate without the padding, but it's just a personal preference.

@Brentce

Any chance of a pic of pauldron with and without padding on the figure ? It also looked a bit rigid to me as well in other photos. If the pauldron could be rounded a bit might look a bit more natural ?? Or what's your plan ?

Thanks for the pictures, this guys looks great. I can't wait to add him to my Cantina.

Opened him earlier, beautiful figure. Exceptionally well finished. Not sure why there were negative comments about the backpack, it's typical HT quality IMO.
The "leather" parts really shine.

Weathering is great, the figure is really solid, feels great.

It might be too early for this answer (as you just received), but where would you rank this i the current line of HT SW figures? This is the only SW figure I am interested in (I own Chewbacca). But at $300+ CAN make it hard to pull any trigger

Don't think that exchange rate is going anywhere for the foreseeable future, Bo, so time to accept it as the price of being in the hobby. Just the cold reality of it!
