I'm also surprised it took so long to sell through. I suppose too-many-Lukes is to blame.

I was thinking that the other day when we were saying it was a great figure and why didn’t it do better. I guess the lack of Han has meant an overload of Lukes.

It's the other thing about this fig (aside from its many shortcomings) that contributed to its lackluster sales: it appeared toward the tail end of a deluge of Lukes from HT, and an endless drought of Hans.

It's not just a case of "too many Lukes" (which there kind of was in past maybe 5-7 years, even SSC getting in on the action); the production of Han Bespin or Han Hoth would have driven Luke Snowpseeder sales.

for me its just a general lack of commitment from hot toys that they will produce any OT figures. I didnt even care about Lando but bought him anyway. This luke was on my want list but when they are coming out with more clones while there are some big holes in the OT line, it makes me feel like its really not worth buying anytime soon.

If they ever did a bespin Han, maybe I would feel differently. I would even go for a nice 3rd party version if it ever became available.

I dont have a problem with any of the other star wars stuff, I even have picked up a couple of non-OT figures, but I try to keep the rabbit hole to OT figs.

What we really need is a Dak so that when Jazzinc’s Snowspeeder ships we have both figures to put in it.

Dak is exactly the type of character where I wish a third party would swoop in. I’d love more Rebel pilots and Imperial Officers. It’s a shame Hot Toys just does repeat after repeat.

For maybe the 15th time - no kidding, they must have had a small warehouse full of Luke Snowsps. Its been broken down more times than any fig in their history. Basically means they sold very few of the full boxed figure.

I'm having a brain fart, what are and where can I find the BST groups. Don't have a HT Luke yet and because of the TESB SNES video game having this outfit as the main sprite the Snowspeeder outfit is my favourite.

The main one I use is One Sixth Republic BST on Facebook. I'm sure there are others though.

What we really need is an X-wing cockpit, similar to the ones DID makes for historical airplanes. That, along with R2, would be an excellent companion to this figure

As there's no dedicated JazzInc Snowspeeder thread, Luke's thread seems most appropriate. Here's my custom repaint of the very large and incredible JazzInc 1/6 scale T-47 Snowspeeder with the goal of being as accurate as possible to the studio scale Snowspeeder used in The Empire Strikes Back.

The size of this model, being almost 1 meter long, meant some interesting challenges in creating a believable sense of scale. My goal was to replicate both the original painting techniques of ILM from Star Wars, as well as follow studio and film references as closely as possible, to see how close I can get to a screen accurate representation.
An exciting aspect of this build was the use of Archive-X acrylic paints exclusively, which are specifically formulated to replicate the original Floquil paints used to paint models in the original Star Wars films. It was the essential acrylic paints to provide for the goal of accuracy.

Luke and Dak should obviously be in the Rogue Leader version with grey stripes, but the Rogue 3 orange stripe version for me is the most iconic, so I willingly lose a few points of accuracy for putting Luke and Dak into the Rogue 3

I wouldn't expect JazzInc to put this level of paint into each Snowspeeder without a significant price jump, but what you did is a definite improvement. I changed my Snowspeeder from a "Grey Luke" to a "Orange Wedge" one- it just pops way more.
Overall, I'm happy with the Speeder- but- there is a gap right across the seam at front of the ship where the underside & top meet (you have to be sitting on the floor to see it, & you can see light across the open seam)- that's bad Quality Control for a product this expensive & really shouldn't have left Jazzinc's facility like that.

The Jazz snowspeeder always seems about 10% oversized to my eye (the interior seating quite noticeably so) but that paint-up is just stellar. You've created "the" iconic ESB centerpiece display.
