The inflation is one reason ssc may opt to not rerelease old figures I guess. I'm sure their 100 buck gamorrean guard would be 240 even with no improvements.
Epic fail on that pic. Nu Star Wars sucks.SSC's Jabba 2.0 is pretty nice, just wish they hadn't used this as reference for Jabba's arms....

Don’t feel too bad about that $650.Yeah and they jacked the price by a further $50 on the newest PO cycle, from an already high $800 up to $850. The mightyjabba site guy did point out that at the time of the first Jabba, SSC figs were $60-80 and now they are in the $240 range, so $800 vs $320 isn't as crazy as it initially seems.
I managed to get one for $650 shipped during a sale which I thought was still kinda silly-high, but I will say it was the most magic 1/6 box opening expereince I've ever had.
The arms sort of ruined the look for me - the reason I made some custom arms and tongue which fixed it - but the rest is just superb. Oh, except the sneeze-and-you-break-him Salacious Crumb.
Yeah, sometimes you get lucky (I'm usually the guy lamenting he missed out....) but I'd imagine that even if you lived 100 miles from Sideshow in California you wouldn't currently be getting much change back from $1,050 for Jabba once sales tax and shipping were factored in.Don’t feel too bad about that $650.
I paid £850 last year to get a Jabba, which converts to $1,059.67!
I was drunk on all the dosh I made from selling my 1/12 collection.
Ha I’m in the 72” club too but never considered getting inside the shipper! My inner child missed out there.Yeah, sometimes you get lucky (I'm usually the guy lamenting he missed out....) but I'd imagine that even if you lived 100 miles from Sideshow in California you wouldn't currently be getting much change back from $1,050 for Jabba once sales tax and shipping were factored in.
The sheer scale of the whole thing is partly what makes it such an exciting unboxing. After I was done I discovered that I could (completely) fit inside the Jabba shipper - and I'm 6' tall. So in some ways a collectible that costs $1000 but where you can literally fit inside the box isn't such a bad thing.
Looks like a joke mock up rather than a real mass produced product. The 80s must have been crazy.
I have another question for 3rd party companies making 1/6 dioramas of a fallen roman soldier, an oil tank, a shooting range, a partially collapsed balcony being held up by a stone man, and a fire hydrant, why not shoot for some vague star wars dioramas instead?...Why the hell are sideshow not making more dioramas, monsters and aliens?! It’s the only thing they’ve ever done right!
Most of these companies aren’t making unlicensed figures, hence making WW2 and historical figures.I have another question for 3rd party companies making 1/6 dioramas of a fallen roman soldier, an oil tank, a shooting range, a partially collapsed balcony being held up by a stone man, and a fire hydrant, why not shoot for some vague star wars dioramas instead?
