All of his bases do but I'd be bankrupt trying to equip all my figures with themThat Hoth base looks a thousand times better than the weird HT base.
Great pictures coco.. HOLD UP!
Excellent pics Coco. Wor's right, this thing is 10/10 photogenic !!
I shall require thissss bassssse
I’m guessing it’s around this area but they embellished it in a single insert shot to make it clear what he was doing. I don’t think that release latch is on the figure or in the wide shots of the film either.Thank you, guys!
So I’m trying to figure out how to properly connect the grapple gun to Luke’s belt for an AT-AT suspension shot. Also, I have no idea what that silver thing is that he’s unclipping to release the line and drop.
It looks like the end of the grapple goes directly into something just below the left corner of the chest box in the movie but there’s no real definitive shot. There’s really no shot of that connector he unclips either. It’s as if they decided to just add that part in the close up shot.I’m guessing it’s around this area but they embellished it in a single insert shot to make it clear what he was doing. Stop making me want this! Gah!
I guess it’s dealer‘s choice as to how to attach the gun if someone wanted to display the figure getting hoisted up to the ATAT. Plus it sounds like it’s not really designed properly to replicate that scene anyways. The HT grappling gun has numerous accuracy errors and the clip connector is one of those (it's longer and more chunky than HT made it, more like a long lobster clasp.)
However the way the grappling gun connects to Luke in the movie isn't consistent. As he's running below the ATAT it's connected to the extra loop beside the saber loop on his leather utility belt.
As he's drawn up and hanging, it's actually connected to the silver-grey X-wing webbing belt worn UNDER his parka jacket (all other snowspeeder pilots wear their belt where Luke wears his utility/gun belt) and fed out through the parka jacket split, above his leather belt's buckle.
When he unclips and falls, the set-up is quite different - the insert scene actor has the webbing belt worn together with the leather gun belt, now with the grappling gun's clip visibly attached to the webbing belt.
It's unclear what is actually triggered to release him and let him fall - it appears a quick-release mechanism is located within that ribbed grey hose on the very back of the grappling gun, that you pull up (i.e making the ribbing bunch up) to access it.
So I guess connecting the clip to the loop of the leather belt is fine, though in reality for safety (ie to reliably hold his weight) Luke would be crazy to connect it to that instead of the webbing belt.
Love the base Coco !!
