I was thinking he'd be in Hoth deployment mode to match the Snowtroopers and Sideshow's driver. Then the cap is a smaller piece to make an exclusive from.

As an international customer personally I prefer no exclusives, except if it is a Hot Toys exclusive, and not available at Sideshow.

Yes, in the ideal world there would be no exclusives - and no extra shipping and 20% VAT.

If they do Veers, they mind as well do their own AT-AT driver, and an AT-AT cockpit for that matter.

Well compared to the regular Snowtrooper, the commander has:

Rigid breather hood
Symmetrical eyes
Silver discs on the "ears"
Rank badge
No backpack
Upside down shoulder pads
Storm trooper forearms
AT-AT Driver gloves
No belt pouches
Kama with a different cut
Different controls on the chest armor
No knee pads
AT-AT Driver boots
DL-44 pistol with holster
Shiny non-weathered armor

That's about it....

BOBBY

The commander has quite different chest armor detailing, including some quite wacky pinstriping.:lol

And it seems like the Empire shopped at the same cold-weather glove shop that the rebellion did (and even bounty hunters such as Dengar...)

And thankfully this was announced now - I just made the holster for this guy but hadn't bought anything else to build him yet.:)

Thanks for the list of differences Miniature-Art. I could see these figures becoming an enjoyable puzzle - how to combine parts from the two to make an 'ultimate' snow trooper for my shelf.

No problem. It is possible to make a Commander with a regular Snowtrooper and an AT-AT Driver with some sculpting. I did this with a Hasbro 3 3/4" figure:

Last page has some updated pics etc.

Of course with a Sideshow Snowtrooper and AT_AT Driver you can do the same.

Enjoy

I'm a bit confused now. I know HT showed off a Snowtrooper at SDCC, supposedly from Battlefront. Where did this talk of a Snowie Commander come from? Did they show one someplace else or is this just all speculation?
