Yes. This isn't much shorter than ANH Solo, whike Einreich is clearly way smaller than Ford next to Chewbacca. Not a real problem for action figures as this is supposed to be the same character.
Are you saying the Han figure is too tall? Alden Einreich is actually shorter than Harrison Ford.

I won’t be partaking, but I think he looks amazing! Pretty soon y’alls Han collection will be as glorious as SWGoH ^_^

Han looks pretty good there. Chewie looks rough though. Yeesh. I’m guessing they’ll be displayed at upcoming shows soon, so it will be good to see how they look then.
I’m hoping to see the movie tonight. If Alden gets Solo right (to me), it might be worth getting. If they release Glover’s Lando as well, that might even cement it. The only other factor will be what price these will be in the future. The recent hike (damn you, Avengers!) has me wary of upcoming releases now.

How many Solo fans will buy this and chuck the Alden sculpt...[emoji38]

Then replace the head with a Ford sculpt? Let's see what those HT Han heads go for now.

Immediately thought this. From a technical standpoint he would be a cool EU Han if we use the OG sculpt or smirking one. I like the jacket.

Saw the movie yesterday. It was alright. Ehrenreich was great as a young Han, I was very pleasently surprised!

So after liking the movie, I went to bed, looking forward to the Hot Toys announcements...but that headscuplt, I don't know. I'm definitely not impressed by the likeness. It's somewhat fine with the goggles, but I think he looks too artificial without it.

But the longer I look at the pictures with the goggles, the more I like it.

I never buy multiple figures for the same character, but I might make an exception when the actor changes.
And I really liked Alden Ehrenreichs performance, so at least the deluxe version is not off my list yet.

Re: Hot Toys: Solo: A Star Wars Story - HAN SOLO

I really wish they would just do sculpted fur on chewbacca until they can figure out how to make it look right

Nah with a bit of futzing the fur looks great overall (not in these pictures though), but the face is a problem every time. Maybe sculpting the face, mouth area and around the eyes, and the continue the fur from there. Because this clearly doesn’t work. The ANH Chewie is the only one that’s acceptable for me.

It’s funny how people are like ‘what do we need this for’, ‘only the OT is good’, ‘the movie isn’t needed’, ‘let’s get a Ford head on a his thing’... blah blah... it seems like people are forgetting that not everyone are over 40 living off memberberries. I am, and I only collect OT, but there are in fact younger people out there if you don’t know, and for them the 80s are in a galaxy far faaaaar away and they don’t give a **** about our nostalgia. They want their own and they’re getting it. Great! Yes, the OT figures sell better, because people over 40 can afford it - most young people can’t. That doesn’t mean that the franchise isn’t appreciated - and all box office numbers show that. ...so might as well accept that the world is going ahead leaving the 80s behind, like it or not.

Same here. I thought he was brilliant.
We needed a change in tone in the anthology movies after the dour, depressing and "gritty" Rogue One.
And yep, the interchangeable looks much better but there's still time for HT to improve on the regular head which right now as it is reminds me of pre-Gollum Smeagol/Andy Serkis for some reason.
Will be getting the Deluxe - fingers crossed that they don't overcharge us.

Yep. He was already great in "Hail, Caesar!" and showed some range in that movie alone, so I was very confident when his casting as Han Solo was first announced.

Then the news about the rocky production piled up...but, well, as long as the movie turns out fine, that's just Disneys problem, not mine.

Hopefully the movie will be a success, because now I really want a direct sequel! Anything above 800 Million worldwide (= GOTG Vol. 2 money) should do the trick.

Haven’t seen the movie, but I suspect I’ll stick to the Black Series for the Solo representation in my collection. £100 will get me Han, Lando, Qu’ira, Beckett and L3.
