I would watch the whole movie like that. [emoji38]
I rewatched it the other day while waiting for the figure to deliver and I tried my best to pretend it was Ford through it. Aside from the terrible miscast for Han its an enjoyable movie for the most part. Really love Chewie.i would probably have bought a Chewie from this film if they followed through.

That was neat!

I will say though, as a huge HF fan, and Han being my favorite SW character, I still thoroughly enjoyed Solo and Alden's performance. I think the script had a lot to do with capturing the character of Han, but I also think Alden did a great job in performing the role.

The linked Tom Selleck as Indy is much better than the other I posted a month or two back. More scenes, better implementation.

Much better visually but the voice is still jarring. Technology has advanced enough that they could have CG'd him to look more like Harrison Ford and tried to simulate the voice. It does seem like capable and passionate individuals produce better results than the actual studios these companies hire for effects like this. Superman's mustache removal in Justice League, Tarkin in Rogue One, etc.

I also re-watched Solo recently and tried to go in with a more open mind this time around. I enjoyed it more but it still has its issues. I feel like the third act is stronger than the first two and we really start to get a sense of Han's character as we see it in ANH. There were too many moments that they tried to link to the OT, which is fine in and of itself, but I feel that they lacked subtlety. It has the same problems many modern movies have where they go to visual effects heavy and flashy. Han piloting the Falcon in Solo felt more cartoon-ish where it felt more grounded in the OT, to me.

He's a pretty smart looking figure.

To my eyes there's no question he's young Han Solo. I didn't question it in the film either.

The only issue is he looks lonely without a Hot Toys Qi'ra or Lando. There's the Patrol Trooper, but they aren't exactly friends. I could do with a second Chewbacca.

Looks good, Asta! Wondering if I'll ever get this figure. Still waiting on BBTS....

As for the movie, I like Alden's performance just fine. He's evoking the character, not trying for a Harrison Ford impersonation. I rewatched it recently and enjoyed it alot. Glover really shines as Lando...I hope HT revisits this movie and produces another figure or two. It's not an entirely impossiblr hope...we did get Krennic after all...

C'mon BBTS...where is this figure?

I recently rewatched it and enjoyed it as well. More than my initial viewing where I went in expecting to dislike it. Some of the Falcon piloting is a bit too fantastical but I really loved the last third of the movie where we see Han’s character developing to become the smuggler we know and love from the OT. Especially the stand-off with Beckett at the end.

I'm starting to wonder about the Mudtrooper. He should've left with this figure, but he's presumably still stuck in Hong Kong.

I put the film as my fourth favourite after the OT, followed closely by Rogue One. Something just feels so right with Solo in capturing the early expanded universe.

As for more figures, I'd like to think Howard rated the film highly enough to order a Lando and Qi'ra made! But I don't really feel it'll happen. :(

Haven't seen the movie in a while, But what is the significance of the dice? Where on the figure is everyone putting it on or not?

I had never heard or noticed them until they became a "big" thing in TLJ, but they are hanging on the Falcon in ANH if I remember right. I swear they just added that into Solo though to make them feel more important for TLJ since they weren't mentioned at all in the OT.

Not mentioned. But they were always there. Pfft. Call yourself a SW fan, lol.

They appear in ANH as soon as Chewbacca gets into the cockpit:

Obviously a call back to the fluffy dice hanging from the rear view mirror in a car from the 1950s onward, since Lucas was a car nut. However, looking at the history of fluffy dice, it's believed they originate from the practice of US WWII fighter pilots hanging dice above their instruments displaying seven pips before a 'sortie' mission for good luck.

The ANH dice were just regular dice with dots for numbers, but for TLJ and Solo the dots were changed to symbols.

Ikon Collectables have moved the ETA up to Sept 7th from the template end of quarter date of the 30th. So looks like Australia is about to finally get their stock.

Just picked this up today along with Leia and Wicket. A very quick shot right out of the box...

Very first impressions... Excellent!

I'll look closer at him tonight. The portrait is really good, The cut and sew superb.
So glad I kept the order. More later...

Nice shots there. All going to plan this guy and the Mudtrooper should start shipping out to Australian resellers this week. Can't wait to get him and pair him up with Chewie.

Yes....he looks great with Chewie!

I'm expecting the Mud Trooper version next week. I'm really surprised how much I like this figure. It's a good, solid release. Well produced, plenty of relevant accessories (DLX version). Wish he included a hand of sabacc cards though... I haven't even popped open the train heist coat and gear yet...I've just been enjoying the heck out of posing and staring at the figure as he's geared up right out of the box. Really unfortunate that we'll probably never see HT produce any more from this movie. An equally well produced Lando or Q'ira would make such a great display. As it is, I'm going to have to look at acquiring another Chewie to display with him at some point.

Couldn't be happier with this release.
