I sure could. But when I spend $200 on an item that's supposed to be a high-end adult collectible, I don't want to have to glue anything back together regardless if it's an easy fix or not.

What if Sideshow asks you to mail those parts back in (not an unreasonable request)? I might ask for a bit of compensation because you're right, they should come properly glued to begin with (at any price), but my time/energy would probably be better spent extracting a tiny drop of glue rather than possibly having to mail something back or smash something in lieu of.

I don't disagree that the glue shouldn't have come undone, but it is such a minor (and easy) thing to just fix that it seems rather petty to be contacting SSC for a replacement part.

(And people wonder why prices keep getting pushed up)

Yeah I feel some collectors come off as brats, like guys...if it's an easy fix and you rather do the leg work to get it replaced, you are doing it simply out of spite and is very counterproductive if you ask me....yeah you spend 200$ for a toy, even if it's in perfect shape, IT IS STILL A TOY....we are all overpaying for plastic regardless of its condition

Wrong hobby if dropping a dab of glue requires too much effort. Anybody that owns DX Luke knows this. Just fix it yourself guy, its crap like this that makes things difficult for people with real defects.

I didn't know complaining about a magnet coming off would cause so much turmoil for people. Go ahead, keep stressing about my improperly glued magnet. :rotfl

Bruh you the one stressing enough that you want to go through the hassle of contacting SS for something you can easily fix in literally 5 seconds :lol

But ok...we stressing

So your money is more valuable than your time I guess...hmmm because the time spent communicating back and forth, snapping pictures and emailing them to SSC you could have beeeeeen glued that piece of metal...lol

But do you man, is your money I guess...I've been collecting my entire life, not hot toys, but sneakers and you remind me of the dudes that flip when they buy a pair of kicks and one shoe comes unlaced :lol overreacting on 100

People will often protest against examples of lazy entitlement.

That's pretty much it, the sense of entitlement and bratty approach, like I can imagine the SSC staff legit rolling their eyes when my dude approaches them about an unglued piece of metal...like dude, seriously? I can understand damaged parts, like joints, cracks, ripped outfits, my WS jacket came with a tear and I just glued that **** up, doesn't bother me one bit, I would have been more annoyed going through the steps of a replacement....only thing I ever did that for was my Spidey dynamic stand which came faulty and wouldn't screw on properly and only because of the poses I wanted to display him in...otherwise I wouldn't have bother either...lol

It may be a little "lazy", but at these prices I think he's "entitled" to expect better QC. Too many of us just take it on the chin (case in point, the aforementioned Bespin Luke).

You guys set the bar pretty high on what constitutes a 'QC' issue.

Waist of man power, transport, fuel and time..... Glue it and send them an email so they are aware of the issue and they may offer some money back

"Bruh?" :rotfl

All I did was mention that my magnet came off and then people got all up in arms telling me to glue it myself. I guess I'm a "brat" for not wanting to glue something that was supposed to be glued properly by some guy at the factory. Surely part of the $199 I paid was to make sure stuff is glued properly. But no, I guess people are ok with getting stuff that falls apart out of the box and are A-OK with fixing stuff they literally just bought. It's not even about how easy or hard it is to fix. I understand it's an easy fix. But I didn't spend my hard earned money to glue stuff together. If requesting a replacement belt makes me a picky "brat," so be it.

I agree ...

First off, if we glue or repair it ourselves, especially use the wrong type of glue, you can potentially devalue s product and who wants that (and can never resell as unaltered)......secondly there are glues that could ruin the product.....
Crazy glue doesn't work on everything, and in some cases melts materials instead of fusing them.

It's usually best to let them deal with it.....if anything they should be aware their factory glues aren't doing their job...

If someone needs to glue any of these magnets in the future, a tiny drop of CA (cyanoacrylate - aka super glue) will do it.

Yes nine out of ten times a dab of crazy glue works. I fixed I think Luke's holster that's way....

However super glue and crazy glue are not equal so no super glue.....

They are in these parts. "Krazy" is a just brand anyway, and IME, a very poor one. I use Zap myself.

From wikipedia:

Cyanoacrylate adhesives are sometimes known generically as instant glues, power glues or superglues (although "Super Glue" is a trade name)

Not to interrupt your guys' petty argument, but I got my single trooper in today and all I can say is hot toys did a fantastic job on these. Puts my veteran clone trooper to shame when you handle them back to back... The clone armor slides and flops around with the slightest touch but the armor setup on these stormies is glorious.

The magnets used for holsters seem to always come apart... I can see being bothered by it, but it's just part of the hobby.

So I got my set in today, and I'm in love. When just casually checking them out the Sideshow figure still looks pretty good next to the Hot Toys set, but when you pay a bit of attention there are a number of key improvements HT has made that really make them an excellent set. It feels like Hot Toys paid attention to what Sideshow didn't get right on their troopers and fixed all of the complaints.

They added the gloss to the armor, refined the helmet (especially the little microphone pieces), have a much better body (tight, well proportioned and seems very solid), got rid of the cankles and gave him a generously sized cod piece. If I had one minor nit on the figure it's that the ankles are a bit gappy, but they pose so well and you can easily address it by moving the armor around.

I love all the extra hands, the included mouse droid (goodbye Hasbro stand-in) and the weapons are really well done. And again they seemed to have found ways to improve upon the Sideshow ones weapons; not only do they look a bit cleaner, but the moving parts work better and they just feel more durable.

I really hope this set is a sign of things to come from Hot Toys and their Star Wars license, if every figure is this good I'll be one happy collector :rock :rock :rock

And here's a quick side-by-side with the Sideshow... again, it's not like the Sideshow is garbage, far from it. But the HT is just all around a nicer figure. Not to mention it took me quite awhile to find a sweet spot where the Sideshow would actually stand, whereas the HT never moved a hair while I was photographing them :lol

@galactiboy

Thanks for that short write up! I'm new to the 1/6 world, so it's nice to hear the details on the differences between the SS and HT versions with side by side pics. Glad to hear that the HT ones are stable for posing. I had to put this set on flex pay so it will be a bit before I get them, but I'm looking forward to that day.
