I'd expect the binders to be part of all two-packs and the exclusive to be another gun rack. Or a piece of pipe from the trash compactor. ;)

At some point, we will get a ANH Luke, and it's inevitable this Stormtrooper 2-pack will be released with the Han and Luke heads as extras. Binders will be the exclusive accessory.

There is a lot of potential for this set of armour. :wink1:

Sandtrooper for each of the 3 colored Pauldron, ANH Space trooper, ROTJ Stormtrooper are few more I can think of...:lol

Definately hoping for sandtroopers.

Yes and no...I think the release overall will be killer, of course...but not confident about helmet/brow accuracy. May just bash one, not sure. My airbrush arrives this week, so we'll see how my Marmit bucket repaint goes.

I also don't think HT would do the weathering any justice so there's likely to be a lot of opportunity for customizing.

Most likely. I think the stock helmet is great on the Stormtroopers, but you can't really get away with that sculpt on Sandies.

Weathering is done with sponges and brushes, but I got the airbrush to match paint and finish on Marmit buckets.

The job is *relatively* simple, but will take some work and time nonetheless. With the exception of the Probe Droid, I haven't owned a 1/6 collectible yet that didn't need something extra to push it over the edge.

I could be happy with the HT stormies just as they are, of course...the only reason I'm heading down this path is due to my No-Stripes experiment and the possibility of Sandies down the road.

Good to have options, I guess.

I took the plunge and converted mine to a sandtrooper. Besides the weathering.....

-replaced the left knee part with an SSC diamond sniper plate
-removed and sanded flat the two belly plate parts and added photo-etched details
-painted over the tick marks on the the helmet tears
-replaced the teardrop lenses with clear green sheet
-sanded down the ear pieces with the three bumps and replaced them with four strips of styrene
-added the third screw under the earpiece

This is some very nice work. Could you go into greater detail on how you converted the belly plate and knee plate? The knee plate looks easy enough to remove, just wondering about how you went about grafting the diamond plate on.

And what kind of ammo pouches are those?

For the belly, I popped off both of the button plates then sanded off the detail. Once they were nice and smooth, I added scrap photo-etch parts from various 1/32 aircraft kits.

The diamond knee plate was cut from the SSC greave with a razor saw and the excess plastic sanded off. I added a little styrene block on the back that fit the slot left on the HT greave by the original part.

The pouches are DiD German MP-40 pouches from the Sgt Major Wolfrum set. I moved the tool pouch over from the center of the shoulder pouch and painted out the white threads. The one on the belt is the left side pouch with all all the straps stripped off. Frankly, on closer examination of HD movie stills, I think the original film pouches were black canvas, not leather. I might dye a Luftwaffe field blue MP-40 pouch black and use that. I have a pair of the HT Shadow Trooper ammo pouches inbound to use for the belt pouches.

My photo taking skills are non existent which explains the odd blue tint on most of those photos. :)

HTH,
Brent

Nicely done. I've been debating on how to approach the ab plate, if I go for the bash.

I need to get my hands on some styrene...useful stuff. I saw some nice AT-ST conversions/mods done with it.

I had a set of those, a year or two ago, but I didn't like the look of them stock even after moving the tool pouch...painting the white threads makes a huge difference. I just used SSC pouches at the time instead.

It's up in the air for me, I saw one still where they definitely looked canvas. I think the prop department also made some pouches, so there may have been both.

So YOU were the one that beat me to those... :rotfl ...I have one inbound, on the look-out for more.

That was me. :) I got the second one you must have left when he put up the second pair. I got the black pauldron too, so I have three pouches and the pauldron- not cheap. :(

I'm working on a hybrid SSC-HT sandy now: mainly modded SSC armor on a True Type slim with HT hands, feet and greaves. Haven't decided on a HT or SSC helmet yet.

I only managed to snag the one...I wanted at least three and the pauldron. :pfft:

But yeah, not cheap. For a Sandie bash I'll likely use SSC, HT and Marmit parts. The things I have to do for a perfect stormtrooper around here...:lol

Even better...two interlocking unique trash covered bases that includes removable debris and posable Dianoga tentacle!
