Has there been anyone who separated the armour from that 2 pack to show how different they are? I thought they just used the han armour on a shorter torso body?
Short trooper from the two pack has the same armor as the tall trooper and Han. As others have said, though, the Luke figure has the shorter chest piece.

I would guess it would still work just with potentially no overlap on the lower chest piece. The undersuit is elastic and could probably handle the switch.

All this talk makes me want to make a short Sandtrooper.

It's certainly removable. What's uncertain is whether it is rewearable or not.
And that is the million dollar question. Seem everyone is happy with their troopers and did not bother to make any modification (y)

Checked a min ago that one at Carousell SG is sold... did you buy it?

It is still a "probably".
Short Sandtrooper sound like a pretty nifty idea. Deew IT!

Thinking of picking up the MMS268 2-pack. Are they more or less good to use for a ESB display?
If you're not a stickler. The ESB stormtrooper armour had different armour pieces on the backs of the gloves, black painted 'frowns' and I think maybe the eye holes were cut out a little bigger, it's been a long time since I looked at all the differences.

Thank you.

I did some research and came to find out the same. The holsters are also attached on their right side vs left (ANH) – I hope I’d be able to do that on the figures too.

It doesn’t seem likely at all that Hot Toys will do a proper ESB Stormie release so it looks like I’ll go for these!

It's weird, you'd think it'd be easy money for them. If you can get a hold of the ROTJ stormtrooper hands I think they use the same armour pieces that ESB do, although the rest of the armour is different with the return edges.
