damn- wasn't even considering this as I thought it would be an anomaly animated piece based on the headless teaser. Seeing the realistic face makes me envision how nicely he will fit into all of the already realistic HT figures.

Umbara arc was one of the best of the entire series and it belonged to the clones. Although I disagree with the cop out that Krell was a separatist. It was way more powerful that he just hated clones enough to sabotage his own side in a vendetta to kill them, and gave the clones more agency and depth to not blindly follow bad orders. By making Krell a traitor it robbed the clones of having to a make decision that goes against everything they believe (chain of command) that could have seen them all executed for treason themselves.

I was more annoyed that what happened within these episodes really never came up between the Jedi. The next episode all but ignored what happened. Still, it was a good series of episodes.

Why does his helmet appear to be welded together? Did I miss something in one of the CW episodes??

Rex made his helmet out of a phase 1 and a phase 2 helmet that was welded together (chest plate too).

Which is why I commented earlier that it isnt as accurate as the sideshow Rex (who many seem to be needlessly criticising) as the hot toys helmet does not conform correctly to what a realistic phase 1 and phase 2 helmet would actually look like welded together.

The hot toys helmet has been done using animated proportions......which is strange considering what they were going for. Even stranger that everyone apparently wanted "realistic rex" but don't appear to mind its animated inspired design.

The hot toys figure is sort of a halfway point between realistic and animated in that respect

Interesting. Thanks for the info!

Dave Filoni thought he might have...

But that would mean that the Nik Sant actor would have to look like Temuera Morrison...

I can't believe this piece of hand-waving even caught any traction with Star Wars fans. The ones who are notorious for picking out plot holes an inconsistencies. Nik Sant doesn't even look like Rex. How could they be the same person? That whole debacle frustrates me to no end.

Filoni's done a lot of good the past few years, but the fact that he threw this out there is a pretty big blemish on his record.

It's just a bit of total nonsense apparently singularly based on a guy having a white beard. Retcon madness on an extra from a 1983 film. I do my best to ignore that one.

Now, if I saw a concept dated around 2007 that outlined that they were introducing this new clone captain and he was going to end up being that guy with the beard from Return of the Jedi ......well, I'd be sold. In actual fact I think they gave rex a white beard in rebels, fans subsequently noticed a guy with a white beard in jedi (who wasn't obi wan), thought they could make the timelines add up, and away we went!

You have made some good points. I will likely end up buying the HT but don't really feel like I need to already owning the Sideshow. I agree that HT should include an alternate cartoon sculpt if releasing this as a Clone Wars figure. If nothing else make a deluxe version and charge extra, I'm sure lots would be willing to pay.

Hayden Christensen doesn't look anything like Sebastian Shaw. They both have a beard, therefore they are the same person.

It's really nothing more than providing a subtle connection between the most beloved era of movies (OT) and one of the most beloved characters outside of said movies (Rex). If you want that to be Nik Sant, have it be Nik Sant.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me either way because he's on screen for literally two seconds. Knowing it could be Rex? Yeah, it's kind of cool, actually. It's a way for him to fight back against the Emperor who made he and his brothers betray their Jedi companions. But I don't get worked up about it either way.

You know I actually thought she had a borderline realistic appearance in these latest episodes already.

I can't see Bo-Katan ever happening. It's HT they start a line and rarely go that deep or finish it.

Well this solves that, she'll look like Katee Sackhoff. Given she'll be in The Mandalorian Season 2 and was a good part of the tail end of The Clone Wars I would say the odds of Bo-Katan being made is relatively high.

That looks great. So glad I sold the ss, which was great, but the sculpt makes this. I didn?t think I would be happy about any announcement that wasn?t ot, but this is great. Now I think I need Cody. My ss Cody can keep the helmet on and the ht Cody can display the sculpt.

That makes sense especially with the current rule of Mandos not taking their masks off. Though if she does remove it she looks close enough to her character already.
