I just have it hold the leg if they're not in flight pose.
I don't think posable arms are anything to justify the price, but it's baffling that they just don't include both types.
It'd be nice if they included both supports, but Hot Toys has been cutting costs wherever they can. And apparently that means only one stand support and fewer hands on top of fewer accessories.
That said, I don't think the choice of either standard support or dynamic flight pole affects internal pricing considerations, especially for troopers. The 501st standard has a dynamic pole and the Coruscant Guard has the standard support but both are the same price, and the same price as the Mandalorian Scout with the older style sand base and support.
I think the actual rationale is probably worse, because including the dynamic pole just because the character has a jetpack is likely just Hot Toys doing what they think is best for the figure. But they're absolutely wrong in this case, and in the case of pretty much every Star Wars figure with a jetpack that has one.
I think most of us here would prefer a regular support instead of the dynamic pole if we could only have one. I see a lot of people making do with just the base with no support.
And I just want to note that I find it baffling that Rex and Ahsoka come with light gray bases but then the 501st, Coruscant Guard, Jesse, Vaughn, and Mandalore Maul are all on dark gray bases and DAMN IT HOT TOYS AT LEAST BE CONSISTENT WITHIN THE SAME LINE.
Sorry, sorry. I am just really getting tired of buying extra stands to get consistency. I know it doesn't bother everyone, but boy do the choices Hot Toys makes with their Star Wars stands really get to me.
