That's a big part of the problem though, Lucasfilm seems to have switched to exclusively using that foul RO design

I think RO was already out when HT released the ROTJ versions? I don't see them using RO for ESB, I'm just worried they won't bother making them for ESB.

I hear you. It might be a while but I think it'll happen some day (maybe actually in 2030 for ESB 50th), but it's better to not expect it and be surprised than the other way around.

I’d like the R1 troopers more if the eyes on the helmet were more accurate and came to more of a point on the bottom of the lenses vs being so rounded on the HT helmets. Makes them look “nicer”

Didn't Hasbro also say that they consider the R1 design to be the definitive Stormtrooper now?

Yeah, I know it’s Rogue One style but it’s close enough for me to consider it an OT Trooper. It at least blends in well enough.

Yeah he's RO style but I'm happy with him. I'd prefer a classic OT trooper but those are so expensive now, this guy was a reasonably priced alternative. Nice and easy to pose too. Wasn't fighting with him to get his joints/arms/legs where I wanted too much.

How did you order / ship? Ordered on 12/16 from @ToysWondweland. it didnt get dropped off to post office until 12/28. Now Infind out 12/31 express post etc. delayed until further notice due to covid. No idea when mine will arrive…..

Thanks for the quick photos, I'm still kinda on the fence with this one, I just don't see HT doing any OT inspired stormtroopers anytime soon (and the aftermarket prices are so high anyway), so I think I'll have to settle for this guy.

Yes Hasbro said they're doing R1 design for everything now. Who knows if that was a Lucasfilm decree or not.

Probably because they'll have the film models, so it will be easier for them to get an 'accurate' (to the wrong movie) looking stormtrooper without having to re-sculpt new OT ones.
