I used the Fine and Finish polishes. I wouldn’t use the Coarse because I thought it may cut too deep, but the plastic is solid white so as long as you go in steps it should still come out smooth. The magic eraser is just the Mr. Clean magic eraser you can get at most grocery stores. I’m at work right now so I can’t post any pics of the one I have at home. They are just a white scrub pad and usually come in a box of 4.
I started with the Magic eraser and then did the polish. You can go even further than I did if you want. I’ve thought about doing it more but I don’t have all 3 of my Commanders near each other so I figured it was good enough. Someday I may try to get the whole scratch out. This whole process only took me about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go. I'll post the result if all goes well. Then it's a case of do I/don't I try the Coruscant guard. Cheers.

I literally got two Commander just so I can mod one into regular trooper.
Magic Eraser works great.

Best one will be ESB for ESB 50th 2030. :lol

But I do agree. I prefer the ANH over ROTJ. Though both are in kind of a not perfect but not bad area. They really dropped the ball on the ROTJ helmet though.
🤣 ESB! Yeah, looking forward replacement belts for all my ANH troopers!!!! Toy anxiety, you better prepare!!!!

Got rid of that pesky line so here's the result. I've included a pic of the kit I used as recommended by Mcbillman (thank you). Worked a treat.

I masked off the weathering I wanted to keep and protected the black brow line, then went at it with the Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I thought 'this is too soft it ain't shifting', but it does. Just be patient. I then applied a small blob of fine polishing compound and rubbed it in with a soft cloth, followed by the finish compound. Used a different lightly damp cloth to clean off any excess compound and boom, perfect result. With fussing it took about 20 mins. Lighting is not great in the pics but you get the idea. I may have to buy another squad leader now. That's your fault Mcbillman .

I'm not sure I'm going to tackle the black blob on my Coruscant Guard head yet. I think I will try and buy a spare head then research options for protective matt coatings and weathering before I attempt anything. It may also need a little re-weathering after the blob is erased. All depends how it looks after. But if any of you have attempted this please post your tools, techniques and of course pics. It will be appreciated.

ANH Stormie will always be my favourite design but hopefully one day Hot Toys will give us a deluxe Rogue One/Mando based Stormie with a choice of pauldrons, back packs, weapons, a belt with a detachable holster that can fit on the left or right side and a few base stickers to represent different environments. If they do a similar quality job of weathering to the squad leader/commander (not too heavy and slightly different) and keep the magnetised grenade on the back, that will be the ultimate army builder for the "modern" stormie look. Well I can dream right? Failing that Hot Toys please just re-release all of the Rogue One Jedha Patrol stormies again, coz I think I was asleep when they got released.

Insane, this guy’s been in stock at sideshow for one year and for months! Will it celebrate its two year birthday, I wonder?

Think about all the occupied storage…. Why aren’t they selling the inventory at 50% discount? That way they might be able to push it onto waitlist. Can’t be financially viable to sit on inventory this long.

Nice! Is this your first one or second?

It's my second! 😁 I bought one when it hit stock, and was planning on getting another; fortunately I was able to snag it when it was on a daily deal since I missed the other times :lol

This is also my first OT-era Stormtrooper :D I'm hoping they release another clean, shiny version in the future too.

Probably not ideal from a business perspective for a figure to sit around for almost a year and a half, but it's at least given me plenty of time to army build at a comfortable pace. Been buying around one per month for a bit and must have 12 or 13 of these guys now, probably a good time to stop but with the regular discounts it's hard lol.

13 commanders?!?!?? Who’s actually doing the commanding? Your display must be busy with meetings.
