Well, dammit. I just watched Justin's review and now I want to get the figure!

I was pretty much set to pass on this figure. The sculpt didn't look that good in the initial blogger pics. I wasn't crazy about the movie (even though I love the first 2). The outfit around the shoulders and neck with the hood look a bit too bulky. And I'm wary about the seamless arms.

But after seeing the review, the sculpt does indeed look really good. Yes, the best of the 3 Rey sculpts. He managed to futz the outfit pretty nicely too. And she does come with a good amount of accessories. Still worried about the arms though.

So now I'm really torn.

You pretty much summed up exactly how I felt. It's my least favorite of the new movies, and original pics made it a pass, but now I'm tempted. I want all the sabers and like the head sculpt. Plus as a character D-o was whatever, but I like how he turned out.

I?m excited for this one to go with the Kylo. Really happy with how they both turned out. These are both my first and maybe only sequel trilogy figures I?ll get.

Although the sequels are a mess, they are fun popcorn flicks and Star Wars is like pizza even when it?s bad it?s pretty good

For me, Star Wars is Star Wars. I don?t have it in my to hate any of them. Once the opening crawl starts it?s like I?m 5 years old again and nothing else matters

I?ll be your enabler on this. Get it!

Justin?s video was amazing, and I loved the head sculpt comparisons. This is definitely the best Rey headsculpt. It makes the TFA version look like a Barbie doll. I also like that it doesn?t have a dead-eye neutral expression, but it?s still somewhat versatile.

Me too. I love Star Wars, and I accept its imperfections. I even have a special place in my heart for the prequels, even though they are sometimes hard to stay awake for.

Yep! I agree about D-O too. It's a nice little companion piece like the porgs in TLJ figure.

That's exactly right! The original Rey DOES look like a Barbie face, especially compared to this new one! Oh boy, it's really hard to resist!

:lol I feel very similarly!

I actually have accumulated a good amount of points so I can essentially get it for free. Plus with the points now expiring, I'll HAVE to buy something--anything--with points whether I like it or not. Worse comes to worst I can sell it off if I end up not liking it.

Wow, you can actually see my little pea brain rationalizing this purchase right before your very eyes!

Definitely one of the worst figures they've put out in a while.

Awful headsculpt. Just awful.

It's ridiculous how bad that looks.

I suppose it's fitting that the worst character ever introduced into Star Wars gets one of the worst ever HT sculpts.

Lolol to be fair, all of the nay sayers you quoted aren't the same as the people saying they like the figure.

But at the end of the day it's always best to wait for the final in hand video before passing judgement! Hoping the final Bo Katan is great.

Not sure I see what everyone else sees as far as this sculpt being incredible in person lol.

To me, it actually looks a bit small and less like Daisy than the TFA sculpt. The hair is barely off her skin which makes the ears seem extra elfy, and the head seems a tad undersized IMO. Not seeing what others see as far as it looking like Daisy. I personally think the other two look a little closer.

I'll probably pick the figure up and just swap the head out if it really bugs me. Probably one of the only figures we'll get with a yellow saber for awhile. Really like the white outfit, hopefully the weathering looks a bit less...sideshow-esque in person lol

Seeing the head comparison, I think the new sculpt definitely has the TFA one beat in terms of the expression, but I think that first sculpt still captures the basic shape of her face better, with it's more delicate features, smaller nose, and ears that don't stick out too much.

After having watched Justin's review, I have got to agree with the experts here on SSF. This figure looks awwwwwwful. It's mannish and looks nothing like Daisy Riddley.

Nobody is claiming to be an expert though are they? We are just sharing opinions, which is what a discussion forum is for.

I really dont think this looks a thing like Daisy Ridley as Rey other than the hairstyle and being a white female.

I'm actually thinking this sculpt might be good for the TFA Jakku look with the head gear but exposed face, especially if I pick up the Jazzinc speeder. Would be good to have some expression there, and that might solve some of the issues I have with the sculpt.

Don't think I want the full figure, but same with the new Kylo I'm worried it might be impossible to get just the sculpt.

I like it!

Sometimes this looks like the TLJ sculpt. Seems to have a similar expression but looks so different otherwise (even beyond the hair and whatnot)

Justin's video showcases sculpt comparisons well. 100% The best one HT has done.

Yeah the way he shows them side-by-side shows that this is both Hot Toys’ best Rey sculpt but also still not a good likeness. It’s not that this one is good, it’s just that the previous ones were even worse. STILL, nobody’s going to do another sixth-scale Rey so this is as good as it is going to get.
