yeah, I never considered the T1s to be Terminator 'ancestry', but more like the early HKs instead.

For me, the T-800s didn't evolve out of anything. They were based on the remains for the crushed endo from 1984. In fact the 600s were based on those remains, the only difference between them being rubber skin instead of cyborg skin. But don't get me started on why McG and Martin Laing suck for coming up with their 600 design cause we'll be here all afternoon...

True, I've always considered them "Baby-HKs", not "endo's". The very definition of endo refers to something "internal/inside", and I dont think the T-1 was made to go into anything... ;)

Interesting point! The only reason the "t-600's" would be bigger is because they were the same tech, but not as refined or streamlined yet. Cyberdyne had the design, but as of yet hadnt found the Allspark yet to miniaturize it. :D

But that's kinda my point. The 600 wouldn't be bigger. It would be an 800 with rubber skin. The skin is the only difference mentioned by Kyle in the first movie. The ONLY difference. Other than rubber skin, they would have looked human too and had the same endo designed not by Skynet, but by Cyberdyne. McG's Salvation 600s only look human from a couple 100 yards away apparently. That means McG's 600s could not be infiltrators, and thus not the 600s Kyle knew. The design should have nothing to do with the "allspark" (A.I. derived from the chip Dyson was working on). If Cyberdyne had the model 101, then they had the completed endoskeleton based on the remains of the Terminator in the factory. It was finished before the war started. Skynet just gave them life and their mission: infiltrate enemy hideouts, identify primary targets, and terminate (bring to an end).

The endoskeleton should never have been depicted as a soldier. Their are many more efficient designs Skynet could have used to wage ground warfare. The fact that the endos walked out onto the field at all makes me imagine that the resistance was at Skynet's front door at that point (as seen in T2 flash forward), and Skynet was throwing everything it had at them at that point. The time for infiltration was obviously over, but the endo was still a strong killing machine. Infantry was never its designated purpose though.

It can still be a T-1 but the TS version has Battle Armor for the Battle Field. it may be like a different designation such as T-1 Mk2

The T-1 a Tank? The T-1 is a Robot who's form of locomation is treads instead of feet. But since the Hunter Killer Tank seems to be similiar maybe the T-1 is the basis for the Big HK Tank design. So perhaps the T-1 could indeed be considered a miniTank. The head maybe the way it appllies its sensor array.

I think you're right:
It's a mini Tank

Its probably nothing, but in the Hot Toys 2009 Catalogue there is a picture of Howard Chan next to a TS figure and on the floor behind the case is a Terminator poster. Perhaps they may make one.

POST 4000! :D
