I've spent three days working a garage sale - my God, it's tiring. One more weekend of this...but I still squeaked in a new review tonight, looking at the latest release from Hot Toys: the Arnie T-800 Terminator from Terminator 2! And he's sweet - really sweet. You can find the review at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great review as always Michael.

I'm glad your garage sale is over. I can definitely relate with that.

Great stuff as always, Michael, thanks for the review & pics.
Here's a tip, if you run a paper clip under the jacket collar you can get a better looking fit on the jacket!

Low-balling the articulation score, aren't you? I think this figure deserves a twenty out of four.

:wink1:

It's hindered. No lower neck and no double-elbow. If they'd done the elbows like the Wesker body, and gone with a Wesker-style neck, I can see it being 4-stars. Without those, no.

Agree on the elbow joint.... not of the neck... Wesker's neck is one bad example articulation, they had to reduce a double ball joint to accommodate the LED lighting.

Wolverine/Comedian and now T-800 is the best of HT's humanoid figures for natural neck articulation and range. You should know that these bodies have as much articulation points of non-fixed neck TT head (like TTM-14, gambit head), but with better range, and more compact (thus, more natural)

Great review as usual, even if my focus are Endos only I wanted for a moment to get this cool figure.

It's not my stuff - it's my father-in-laws. He passed away last fall, and we sold his house a few weeks ago. We're closing here by the end of the month, and have to get rid of a TON of stuff, but no, there's no toys :)

The only body of that type I've seen is Wolverine, so apologies if great strides were made between the release of this and T-800 (which I'm still waiting to get). When I first saw the muscle arms with joints, I assumed it would be superior to the "bendy" muscle arms in terms of articulation, but now I'm not so sure. The arms still don't move particularly easily, and have a surprisingly limited range of motion. Maybe Wolvie's neck can move like any other figure, but apart from a very minor tilt back or forth, mine doesn't seem interested in moving, and I'm not going to force the issue. Not that I want to place his neck in an extreme position, but it would be nice to have the ability to do so.

I understand that this is currently a necessary trade-off for getting the right look, but I think Hot Toys could still tweak some things toward making these bodies more articulate. Much as it pains me to agree with theNam :D

Great review Michael... I'm not surprised to see **** given how well received this figure is. But, I know it's got to be damn impressive to get full marks from you.

And good to know about the neck, didn't realize it was jointed under the rubber chest.

So you can bend it forward and have him look up?

Yup, you an pretty much pose it any way you want, the only catch is some positions make the neck puff out and things because it's loose around the working neck, just a matter of playing to get a nice pose and aesthetic mix.
