Yes, it's definitely very cool and one of the better exclusives. I'm actually surprised the Sideshow base will be very different.

Sideshow base is just the standard one with the FO logo on it, initially I wasn't bothered about the base but the one on the 'exclusive' exclusive sure looks nice.

Absolutely none so far. He feels way more solid than their Stormtroopers to me. Not necessarily extra weight, but there's just something in the way he feels when you pose him. Having owned 99% of Sideshow Clones/OT Troopers, these just feel so much better than any of them. I'm curious to see how the Jango Fett figure compares to him though, I'll have him in-hand tomorrow.

So the SSC exclusive isn't exclusive at all considering there is nothing different to what will be available through other distributors - or am I missing something?

Some exclusives are made to specific country distributors for Hot Toys. Popculcha tends to get all of the exclusives in Austrailia. The squad leader is an exclusive, so if HT or sideshow distributes to select distributors they can get some stock.

This piece will not be widely available unless is sells poorly at which point some places can get stale stock from sideshow.

I got mine yesterday and I have to say that I am excited for all the other Troopers Hot Toys is coming out with. It's so impressive in hand that it makes the Scout Trooper like a nicer Hasbro figure.

After seeing the rubber in-hand I feel a little better. I don't think it's the kind to melt but I feel that with a lot of twisting of the limbs it could rip but I would take an excessive amount of twisting to make it do that. The stand is really nicely done. I really hope that after all the Episode VII stuff dies down and Hot Toys gets back to the OT they get to some of the other trooopers that were recently done by Sideshow.

I think it will be pretty easy to get one. Two local shops have them on pre-order over here.

Yeh there are 3 UK sellers I know of with this up for pre-order (Toy HQ, Collectibles Direct and Forbidden Planet) which rarely happens for a "Slideshow Exclusive" figure, looks more of a regular release but akin to a 'delux' version with the single extra piece.

I agree, my statement is meant that every normal outlet is not going to get stock....upfront. If it is a slow seller then it will trickle out just like Evil Superman, Bank Robber Joker, Colton, Angelica and all the other island of misfit toys have from being poor selling "exclusives"

At the end of the day, this is a Star Wars Stormtrooper made by Hot Toys. There will be nothing left to trickle and will not be associated to any "poor sales"

I do have to disagree though because shadow trooper hung around for a long time and the space trooper is still hanging around. Not everyone is going to shell out $2,000 for every stormtrooper. Though we all would probably like to.

I am sure Disney is making Hot Toys manufacture a **** ton of these figures so I do not see many being exclusive or rare and that is my point for slow sales. This particular figure will be limited in distribution initially and they will not move them all with the increased volume so the other e-tailers will get stock. Wait and see.

And what you're saying is from who doesn't have one, what's the point of stating the obvious?

And you're probably is pretty off. If you want to click buy it now on an eBay option, that's up to you, but I got mine for $300 shipped. With what Sideshow charges for shipping, that's only a $60 difference to get it 3-4 months early which made it a no-brainer for me. Put up a thread for this figure with that price in our B/S/T section and watch how many hits you get with people ready to pay that.

And you're comparing apples to oranges. This exact Stormtrooper is IN the upcoming movie. That right there is reason enough that people will buy these compared to EU characters nobody cares about, like that Shadow and Space Troopers.
