Yeah I've honestly never seen the point in the deluxe version of this. We finally get a badass chromed Mando and you just want to pose him carrying a bunch of gear on a stick? It wasn't really that memorable a scene in the show.

A person can also pile all of the deluxe accessories on the swoop bike, if they have that too.

I wouldn’t say v2 looks entirely plastic. I was looking at mine in the detolf with the lights on and sun shinning in the room today and it looked pretty shiny, it all depends on lighting. In his video it looks less weathered than in person. I also just finished watching Mando & BOBF and it does looks like his armor changes how shiny it is throughout the show.

Agreed, I think both are good at representing how it looked in the show, as it varied depending on the scene.

Agreed. The fully-sculpted Grogu instead of an articulated figure in softgoods (like the quarter-scale) really ruins all of those photos of Din holding Grogu face to face. That Grogu’s clothing doesn’t drape and is obviously sculpted

Haha yeah when Mando is holding Grogu it does looks a tad irksome that the 'fabric' of Grog's clothing isn't setting how real fabric would. (But of course I shan't be too bothered by that, and him just standing next to Din should look fine.)

Yeah, the season one Beskar figure can bounce the light if it’s bright enough. But it’s gotta be really bright.

So what’s the consensus now for removing the weathering? Cape cod cloth or mineral spirits?

For those who might have taken too much off, or want to weather the armor themselves, tamiya weathering kits work super well, especially in all the nooks and crannies.
That’s what I used on the chrome version of the Bandai model and it came out really really nicely.

Nice guess either two work well. Might do mineral spirits using a Q-tip is better because you can control what area you want to remove most of the weathering. Just wish SS would get their stock in already, was surprised when I got repaint Boba fast and it released before any of the international ones.

Well guess the answer to that is a personal preference. Chemical removal vs rubbing off the weathering gradually.

I picked the one where I could control the removal process more gradually because why rush it? Cape cod cloth all the way for me. There is at least two of us here that have used this process without any issues. Most videos/instagram posts that suggest some form of spirits come with a warning not to overdo it, which seems to suggest it could be easy to do if you are not careful.

Those were my same thoughts exactly, so I think I’ll use the cape cod method as well. I’ll have the next week or so to check out what everyone is doing to theirs before mine gets here!

I honestly think it's the safest method, I did mine in an evening about 4 hours or so. I just took my time. I'd recommend some latex gloves, the cod cape is a little oily.

Honestly the chrome is so reflective it's hard for it not to capture me taking a photo , I do prefer it clean. Like any sort of chrome lighting plays a massive part on how much it can stand out.

Hot Toys Mandalorian V3, only the thigh plate, the knee pad and the relaxed hands were added by me.

Even if the rendering is not 100% accurate on the screen I find that in the right light the rendering is amazing.

Personally I won't touch the weathering of the beskar
