Mouth is slightly off on both, but look at the top of the head on the modified one.

Ugh.. smh. You do realize that works both ways, right?

Look at how "off" serang's sculpt looks now.

You simply scaled the real pic of Hugh Laurie to match the size of serangs sculpt. The problem is, I already stated imo serang's sculpt is too elongated. So if you scale his sculpt to match the real pic of Hugh Laurie THEN add my modified pic in.. yeah my modified pic will appear to be "off". But like I said, works both ways. So when you scale the real pic of Hugh Laurie to match the size of my Modified pic THEN add serang's sculpt in, HIS sculpt looks "off".

And unlike your example, the pics of my modified sculpt and serangs sculpt are exactly the same size and at exactly the same height. So if you super impose the two pics everything will be the same minus the head where I modified it. The pics in your example are not the same. I know.. I super imposed them. They're off slightly.

Still not seeing the likeness improved with the squashed version. I do think he's too tan though.

Hi All,
It's a good thread.
I always welcome 'deep study'.
Thanks to all.

When i sculpting character, i always think about 'he's feeling and soul'.
In my opinion, that is most important thing, more than 'how correctly mm by mm'.
My sculpt is 'Not industrial products', just 'Serang's House.
It's mean 'Serang's' is 'interpretation by serang'.

So, my House sculpt is 'my artwork'.

I don't believe 'Photos or TV capture'.
All Camera & Lens have a 'lens refraction or distortion'.
When i sculpting head, watching TV or observation by photos, make images in my head, and starting sculpt.

Finally, I am not a God, I can't creating real human.
Also, i don't see or met 'Hugh Laurie'.
I just sculpting from images in my head.
So, my House is not 'perfect', just 'Serang's House'.

Thanks All!

Serang.

I think a large part may actually be which body you're putting it on. If you're using a true type its going to be a tad short for house, and the elongated face to me gave a better overall impression. It would be interesting to see the shorter sculpt put on say an omega which is a slimmer taller body.

Excellent attitude - and I'm glad you aren't offended by the constructive criticism.

Has nothing to do with the body. I'm talking about the head. Specifically. You could put that head sculpt on any 1/6 scale body you want, it won't change how elongated it is. Sorry.

Exactly. I didn't put this in your thread serang because I didn't want to flood it with conversation etc. It's just my opinion. Obviously there's people who agree and people who disagree. Which is normal. :D

Good luck with your sales bro!!!

To be honest, i don't think either has the best likeness. They are damned close, i know i can tell who it is, but a couple of passers by have taken a little thinking and pondering before they can tell, and they are well aware of the show/character/actor etc. There's just something about his face that isnt captured in the 1/6th head sculpt, i don't know what it is. I think the whole mouth area needs to be more squared/puffed/defined. Having said that, it is a darn quality piece, and the 2nd photo (the modded one) looks the best imho. Eyes look better, needs the head length though, he has that sucked out long face look. Plus the transformation gif thing, how do you do that?! lol it's cool as!

That's a great new comparison! Obviously the shortened one looks slightly fuller in the cheeks because of the distortion of the image, but that's the only problem I notice in the mod. I like the face shortened and gaunt versus it being long and gaunt.
