I think its stupid......Why would you buy something just because the price has gone up...........People just ask for stupid prices and then you make them a much lower offer and they usually still take it..........Anyone paying big prices is stupid...pacience is the game ...example...lifesize predator busts and arnold t800 bust were both selling for 2000 about 3-4 months ago....the last few have sold for under 1000

Can you show me the 'last few' Predator busts that have gone under $1000? I must be looking in the wrong place.

I'd also love to see some of these sub-$1000 T-800 Arnold busts. I'll buy the first one I see that ends for under $1000 (undamaged with packing material).

Methinks he often points at his head and sounds out the two letters that make up the abbreviation for mountain. ;)

I find it kind of insulting when folks make rediculous lowball offers when I list buy-it-nows. Seriously...

Recently I listed my Courtmaster Deadpool custom 1/4 scale for $550, and got an endless stream of offers like: "I'll give you $400 shipped for it". The best part is that the lowball offers continued to flow even after it sold for my asking price. Are folks really that dense? :huh

I think a lot of people have their heads in the clouds when it comes to this stuff. If someone is listing stuff at silly high prices, the market will usually temper it eventually. Or if it doesn't, you just have man up and realize that you can't afford it and move on. Just because you really want it, doesn't mean you get to determine the price, right?

Im not sure how to go back on there and find them but the last arnold sold for 950 and there was also 1 on there for 1100 that did not sell. and the last pred went for 1100 actually and the 1 listed at 1350 did not sell...and I know they both sold for 2000 not long back....
another 1 is the lifesize chucky they were going for over 3000 and the last 1 went for 1200....

I disagree. He who waits with false hopes and fantasies of trailerpark discounts loses. You never know what'll happen and in the end might very well wind up paying considerably more than if you'd jumped on it when you first flirted with it. Look at RPD Leon. For about a year he rotted on Sideshow's GC list. Then vanished in what seemed like overnight. He then turned up for $300 on ebay and through etailers. People thought he'd go down, didn't bite and waited. For the past couple of years, he's been fetching $400+ consistently, despite the recession.

I can also agree........yes some products are nearly impossible to get at a good price.....But most of them you can get a pretty good deal if you hunt for them

Actually, one of the last T-800s to sell was this one @ $1600:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Sideshow-Termi...53735484?pt=Art_Sculpture&hash=item2a09d75d3c

The seller is a member here.

The one that went for $1075 or so:

https://cgi.ebay.com/SIDESHOW-TERMI...742?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb054e256

well, that person had listed it twice before where the ending price was far higher, and either had non-paying bidders, or was shill-bidding it themselves. When people see a person re-listing the same item time after time, I think it leaves them thinking the seller is shill bidding, and won't bid on their item at any cost.

And the last Preddy that sold was this one:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Sideshow-Preda...983?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a09c2f49f

and the reason it 'only' went for $1375 is because he "DOES NOT HAVE THE PACKAGING" for it. And it still went for nearly $1400. Not only did it not have the packaging, the item is damaged. You can look at the photos of the necklace and see that the 'foot' is broken off halfway down. It also has broken 'quills' on the head, which are also shown in the photos. Funny that the seller says it is in 'excellent' condition.

I started putting "NO OBO's. The BIN price is the lowest price I'm willing to accept for this. Please respect that." in the item description and that seems to have helped. The thing that annoys me is the fact that I say, "SHIPS TO U.S. ONLY!" and have absolutely no international shipping options but still get international inquiries and even some douchily sniping the auction at the end thinking that just because they won it I'm gonna change my mind. It's an annoying process that wastes my time as we go through the process of canceling the auction, getting fees refunded, and relisting.

Some people are just complete _______s with those offers.

I got a message from someone on ebay before saying "I wouldn't pay more than $xx.xx shipped for this", which was about half the BIN price minus shipping. I just replied "good for you" and ended up selling it for my asking price.

:lol I used to send those morons a follow-up message with the link to the completed auction.

That's because at times it can be very hard to get some items locally.

I've contacted a couple of peoples listings that said US only, but then they would consider shipping to Australia.

If you don't ask, you don't know.

Same here, I have an EU friend helping me buy on ebay and more than once he got positive answer from ebay sellers who firstly stated "US only".

Maybe I need to add "no exceptions" to it. Problem is, it's tough to insure, and shipping is ridiculous. Plus I been taken THREE TIMES, once for a BD P2, once for a Medi Star Wars figure and the last straw was the SSE Frankenstein vs. Wolfman dio and got ____ed over by PayPal because they don't cover international transactions under the circumstances I experienced. I won't go any further into the details of how it was done because I don't want to give anyone any ideas. Then there's usually some discount expected on the item because of the shipping cost.

Agree same here I ask to ..........I think sellers are mad not to do world wide ...you will get a better price because people in Australia and Europe are sometimes willing to pay big bucks

Im sure this guys has been reported 100 times...yet hes still allowed to sell. What gives?...

Chris

Are you even allowed to sell a pre-order that is not available until 4-5 months after? But eBay would make good profit out of that transaction, so maybe that is why they let it slide :(

Also i think PayPal is charging new fees for people sending money as Gift on the personal tab. Aside their horrid exchange rates, they grab money where they can

Maybe you are willing to pay more, but as a general rule, it's a just not worth it. I used to ship worldwide, but all the time I spent getting shipping quotes to people and to never have them actually bid, and for all the deadbeat bidders I had. It's just not worth it.

Sellers have to spend extra time filling out customs forms and doing a lot more work. For the most part, selling on eBay is a pretty automated process, it's just a few clicks, and you print out a shipping label. Overseas shipping is more time-consuming.

Awhile back I attempted to sell my White Elektra, at the time people were asking $450-$550.

I was asking something like $250 or something, barely any profit. I had 2 of the $500 sellers PM me and DEMAND I raise my price because I was "screwing with the market"

Needless to say I simply deleted their emails and did no such thing, so I completely believe there are things like this going on.
