Season 9 opening was a very funny episode, glad they went with a long one hour episode.

The Mother played by Cristin Milioti is very likeable and I was happy to see them go with short flash forward moments as I was hoping for.

I very much enjoyed the premiere. The season is off to a good start. I loved Barney's repeated mentioning of a "ring bear."

There was that one scene a few episodes back where Ted broke down crying when he told Robin that every mom should be at their child's wedding. I read a story shortly after that thinking the mother would die before the series finale and that's why Ted was telling all these stories to their kids. I guess they were right.

Ted is the narrator. He marries the mom in this episode, has kids, she's the love of his life, and she ends up dying of cancer. So when the story ends the kids mention that the whole story doesn't mention the mime much, and he ends up with robin. The kids were actually happy about this because they told him it was time to move in since she had been dead for six years.

Their meeting at the train station was perfect. I really wish it had ended with that scene and then cutting to Ted telling his kids that's how he met their mother.

yeah, I agree pretty much. I loved that they showed they loved each other so much but didn't like that they killed her. Then ending up with Robin was odd.

That's what I thought.

I loved the finale.

I was a big fan of the series for several season, but I haven't actively watched since they started talking about having babies. Tone changed for everyone and everything after that.

But how could I not watch the finale still? We all love closure. However, after watching it I'm a bit annoyed at the whole thing.

It ended up putting the kids' real mom in a fairly offensive position as it all turns out. The only reason she existed, it seems, is to have borne children for Ted to tell the story to of how he's been in love with Robin for 20 years.

Mrs. Whatsherface Mosby hardly mattered at all.
