back about 12yrs ago or so I was in Cabo at a leather store.
They had a really cool pair of snake skin pants on the wall behind the register. I made a comment about them being really cool looking and the guy checking me out told me how they were custom made for Morrison, but he died before he came to pick them up.

You completely missed the whole point of why that story was of interest. But thanks anyway for such clever repartee.

Wasn't trying to shock anyone. This was geared more towards those who, like me, are interested in rock history. I'd read a few books on Jim Morrison and the particulars of this new story were kind of interesting and (believe it or not) new. Sorry if you were all looking to be more entertained by something sensational. I would suggest the World News Report or the Enquirer to fill your needs.

I think that large numbers of people have thought that all these years regardless of the official cause. Have you ever listened to rants by Ted Nugent who has said as much for many years now? I was hardly surprised when I read the article and consider it mere confirmation of what many suspected for decades now.

I was born in 1949 and grew up and came of age during this period of time .... the idea of another rockers death being due to drugs is about as much news as todays rappers beind involved in drug crimes. Yawn.

First off, the death certificate only said "Heart Failure". Most people die of Heart Failure. Thats an effect of death. Not a cause. The official cause of death has never been known. There was no autopsy on the body. In addition to all this there have been a ton of conflicting reports (but nothing substantial to back them up) about what was going on Jim's last day.

The first credible living eyewitness account of what happened that day is very interesting to lots of folks (not you apparently, but woot for you.).

I am glad that someone like yourself, interested in music history, now has some confirmation of rumors. Did not mean to rain on your parade but this kind of thing is just like water off a ducks back to me. Just this morning I saw on the news some rapper arrested for a shooting. And this is news? What is that... the zillionth example of such a "news story". Sorry for the rant but this is one of my pet peeves. If people want to kill themselves through abuse because they cannot handle riches and fame - screw them. I do not want it messing up real news which may impact the lives of millions of people in the real world.

In all honesty I agree with Gideon. We all already knew Jim Morrison died young due to his lifestyle. Just cause he may have died somewhere different isn't exactly earth shattering.
