So, I had an auction end about a week ago and the winner has had no contact. I've invoiced him and sent a couple messages...nothing. He also won the auction at the last minute which to me would mean a quick payment since he's already bidding live and should know that he won. I usually have no problems getting prompt payment so this is annoying as hell. I really wanna just sell to the next highest bidder. Anyone know how long I need to wait on this ********* before I can just negate his bid?

A week is plenty of time to cancel his bid if he doesn't respond back to you. I would then offer it to the next highest bidder.

Sell it off....This douche should have paid already. Worst thing that could happen is he gives you a negative feedback...Big F@#$ing deal....:rolleyes2

after 4 days, open a unpaid claim. Once the claim ends in your favor, you can try to offer it to the next highest bidder. if you sell it off right now and the original buyer decides to pay.. he can leave you a negative feedback.

yea, this is what im going to do. i dont want negative feedback so i will do it the proper way to avoid that.

I had the same problem. The buyer won my item on a Sunday night and I waited until Friday to open up an "unpaid item case"(but you can do it sooner). So the guy had 4 days to respond and he never did so eBay refunded my fee and I then re-listed the item. It sucks because you can't give these deadbeat douche-bags a negative review for wasting your time.

I sell alot of stuff on Ebay and I'm always willing to give people some time to pay. I send an invoice out as soon as the auction is over. I give them three days to pay on PayPal. If they don't pay by yhe end of day three I'll send a very nice email inquiring about payment. Then repeat every twenty-four hours until they respond. If they don't respond by day 8 post auction I'll file a claim with eBay. But after 11 years selling on EBay I've only had to do that like four times from what I remember.

same thing just happened to me on a MOTUC lot sale. The fugger sniped the auction at the last minute, and then had ZERO feedback. He said he would pay, but... get this... he said he worked on an oil rig in the gulf and couldn't pay for ~7 more days. Never heard from him again.

To top it off, I had to turn off auto-assist option on ebay, just so I could file an unpaid item claim, and then March Madness and Vegas and my PC crashing all happened at the same time, and since I didn't close the case within 30 days, eBay sided with the unpaying buyer and wouldn't give me my final value fees. I about blew it on that one, called up ebay, told them exactly how I felt about their stupid ass policies and always siding with the buyer, even when they don't pay. I did get my $30 final value fee refunded this month, but I'm still looking at my unsold MOTUC lot sitting on the floor behind me.

Honestly, if I could beat the ____ out of that a-hole for wasting my time, I just might.

I'm dealing with one of these no pay no response guys right now. I hate how sellers can pretty much do nothing when it comes to ********* buyers but they can give us negative feedback if the littlest thing is wrong with their item.

Sellers have ZERO rights and protection with eBay and Paypal despite what they present otherwise.

Try to have your auctions end around friday, as most people are paid on that day.

Yeah but if you don't have the money to pay for an item or at least have the decency to tell the seller "hey I get paid on X day. Can I pay you then?" then DON'T BUY! Certainly don't ignore a seller's messages.

So, I've just got my first experience with a non-paying buyer on Ebay (I guess it was only a matter of time before it happened). One of my listings was sold last Sunday at 9:45 PST, and I've given the buyer 7 days to pay. Seven days are now up, and I'm left with two options: file a non-payment report on Ebay or email him again in hopes that he replies back.

Just like what EVILFACE said before, most people get paid on Friday. When I didn't see his payment, I sent him an email on early Saturday morning and asked him if he was still interested in paying, but he never replied back.

My main concern, is that if I file a non-payment report, will he be able to still leave negative feedback on my account?

The somewhat strange thing is, that I suspect that it's someone from this forum. So, I'm questioning if the non-payment was intentional.

Wow, this is word for word what I do as well. The daily invoices usually get the point across. I just want communication. Tell me WHY you can't pay right away. Better yet, inform me before you bid. I've been willing to wait for payment for two weeks if they just have the courtesy to be upfront about it.

I'll never figure out why people put snipe bids and have no intentions of paying immediately.

Yes, they can leave you negative feedback. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I left a negative for an item that payment was completed outside eBay and my negative is still on that sellers account. BUT, at the same time, you can fight to have it removed as there is no evidence of payment. The seller, in my case, has obviously been too lazy to fight it (a trait that got him that negative).

Not sure why they haven't paid? Start a claim and find out. You have nothing to lose.

Thanks for the advice. Well, I sent him another invoice and an email that payment is due today. I'll file the non-payment report by tomorrow if I don't hear back.

From now on, I'm going to require immediate payment for all of my listings. Lesson learned. :slap

I usually give them 5 days...but there are times I have to use EBAY to send them a heads up...

The nice thing about negative feedback is that you can rebut it. I do not worry about buyers leaving me negative feedback. I have enough confidence in myself that I can negate that within Ebay's system by either using rebuttal or removal.

I usually give them 4-5 days and no more than 7 days! Then I file a non paying bidder with ebay after that!

It happens alot now since the seller has no power over the transaction. We cant leave any negative feedback for a deadbeat ebayer!

But you can leave them positive feedback that says "BIDS ON ITEMS AND DOESN'T PAY FOR THEM. AVOID."

That's what I just did for a non-paying bidder on 2 of my auctions. And as soon as I left the feeback I opened the non-paying bidder complaint through Ebay.

I'm going through this right now. Person outbids the highest bidder at the last minute then doesn't pay. Auction ended Saturday afternoon. I've invoiced, sent three emails asking if they needed more time to pay and no response.

Why outbid someone at the last minute and then not even pay? Offered it second chance to the next highest bidder but I don't think they're interested. The next person down is $40 less than that bidder.

Should I offer them the chance or relist the auction taking a gamble at getting even less than this for the item?
