How many want Vader's chest box to be integrated in his leather suit?

Do you want his chest box built-in or strapped on?

  • I want it built-in because that is how it was meant to be

  • I want it strapped on because I prefer costume authenticity

I am also pro screen accuracy. But not when it comes to things like costume limitations. We are not talking about helmet shape or sculpting.

How many of you realized that Vaders costume had a strap on box when you were just a casual viewer? How many non-SW fans know this? Do you really think Lucas corrected the box in ROTS, but still thought the Vader character in the OT would take the built-in box out of his suit and change to a strap on?

I also know how extremely annoying the straps are on the Medicom Vader. The straps are almost always loose, causing the box to sag, fall away from his chest, or at least be crooked. Simply glueing the box onto the leather isn't a solution because the edges will still show gaps and look tacky.

Thats what I wanted to know. So if the strap on suxx on the Medicom Vader, why would anyone want that? Give it to me firmly fixed and I will be a happy little collector.:D

Vader hasn't even been announced and I can already imagine how long the complaint thread(s) will be.

I don't know why you guys have so many problems with Vader's chestbox. I own the Medi Vader and have absolutely no problems with it.

If your biggest concern the slippage and constant adjusting of the chest box, I just looked on my PF Vader and they have the little straps on him (I never noticed before) but the box seems to built in to the suit or maybe the poly or something. So it would seem likely that they could build the box into the suit yet still have the straps going around him for screen accuracy. BTW my Vader's chest box doesn't light up anymore. :monkey2

Since some don't even see the difference between ESB and Jedi Boba Fett, I doubt they would notice the straps.

Don't patronize me, sir! I demand straps!

:lol Never noticed the difference between the two Boba's (I know Jango doesn't have a cape so that's the difference there. :p) and nope, never noticed the straps on Vader.

I'd go for OT accuracy. I didn't like the ROTS Vader costume so I'm not bothered about how that looks as I won't be buying it. I wonder if the ROTS Vader will be on the short body to reflect the obvious size difference between Dave Prowse and Hayden Christensen?

Isn't the size difference due to the prosthetics - basically Anakin got supersized to Vader :emperor

I don't think he was meant to be smaller or skinnier, so they better keep the height the same. It just happens that they used a smaller actor. Again, I like screen accuracy, but not when it comes to actor or costume limitations. I will buff him up if need be.
