So I just picked up 3 figures I've had pre-ordered months ago and it totaled up to almost $600!!!! Normally I wouldn't have even put it together like that because your average figure is almost $200, and for the quality Hot Toys puts out it's almost worth it. Hot Toys figures are getting really expensive and the prices just keep climbing. I'm wondering what will it take, how much will they have to charge, for you to hang up the detolf and stop collecting Hot Toys / 1/6 figures? For me the line is almost here. I just dropped half of my paycheck to pay for these three figures. I'm almost ready to tap out.

HAHAHA. So if they start charging $275-$300 for a basic figure you'd still keep buying?

I can not believe you guys have to pay custom fees. That's gotta be horrible and a big hinder on your collecting.

Space is more a problem for me. I like to set it and forget it and not continually rotate as more chances to break something. And besides can you imagine for people living in an apartment 10-15 years from now all the Hot toys that would take up all available storage space? Even in a house if you wind up with 200 of these things in that time span is your spouse going to put up with all of the storage taken up by them?

I dont think id be able to leave this collecting thing,,like it says ,,im addicited,,think the best way is to TRY to spread out your purchases,,so the misses does'nt find out how much your really spending:pray::rotfl

I've already reached the end for the time being. I haven't been able to display anything for years and won't be for quite some time. I've decided to sell about 80% of it and just keep a few favorites and some vintage. Also with both myself and my wife out of work PLUS the increasing costs of collectibles today, there's no way I can keep up.

As prices continue to climb, personally, I'll just have to be much more selective in what I pre-order. The increase in prices, and my continual use of space will, eventually, put a stop altogether to my collecting. Either that or I'll have to sell stuff to make room. I dunno, for I haven't hit the space wall yet.

I've become a lot more selective of what I will pre-order and pick up but if prices continue to rise then I'm going to have to back out because it is absurd to charge that much for a basic figure...:(

I would have liked to start buying HT, but I am more of a statue collector and they kept getting put on hold, now the ones I really want are super expensive and not worth it to me, so I decided to not buy anything...I am still tempted but haven't pulled the trigger on any yet.

Well, the $230 Sparrow DX is about the limit for me right now (at least as far as 1/6 scale goes.)

I'm trying to be more selective like everyone else. When you can narrow down your purchases and have 4+ months to save for them, it's manageable. Where I run into trouble is with custom 1/6 stuff :slap
