Man, idk if it’s just me being tired in general or burnt out from collecting at the moment; but the thought has actually entered my head to sell almost everything.
I’ve been thinking about keeping some of my bigger pieces and just nuking the rest of my collection.

Of course this is something that I’m going to sleep on, but I never thought that I would me mulling over this decision either. Collecting just doesn’t feel like a big priority for me at the moment.

Things can change. I was *this close* to finishing a display I'd worked on curating for a few years and then went: "Naaaahh..." 🤣

I don't regret the fun I had, though. And I'm still here geeking out, just no longer an active collector.

Oddly enough, after I brought all of the boxes to the front of my storage unit and got home to start packing, I sat there, turned on my lights and stared at my collection. I immediately thought, “nah I love this stuff, I can’t get rid of it”. So I guess that’s that for now :lol.

I get that feeling with the things I don't have interest in collecting any more, such as Star Wars or Star Trek. I can't even bring myself to watch the latest season of The Mandalorian or anything Star Trek related, but I go into the collection room and can't help but notice and be impressed by the figures.

They've just become secondary to my main interests now. The only figures I've 'got rid of' are customs/kit bashes I put together, in order to harvest their bodies and boots to put together more interesting figures.

I have regrets selling a lot of the cheaper figures years ago, mainly Dragon Models military, because they had parts that would still be useful now. For the money I got for them they were hardly worth selling, and the usable parts would probably be worth more to me now.

So now I don't sell any of them. There are some that I should because I see people paying stupid money for them, whereas they're only taking up space for me.

I've massively downsized my collection this year, not due to financial issues, but just due to focusing on the things I really love.

I've sold every single 1/12 figure I had, which was about 50 figures of mainly comic book, cartoon and anime/manga characters, and I reduced them down to about ten 1/6 to 1/8 scale statues of my favourites.

I've sold most of my 1/6 movie figures too, and now just have about ten 1/6 figures, with another eight on pre-order.

My other love is transforming robots, such as Robotech/Macross/Mospeada, Transformers G1 and Voltron. Throw in a bunch of 1/24 scale movie cars, Star Wars Action Fleet vehicles and that's my collection.

I've found that I don't miss about 95% of what I've sold and if I do, I re-buy it.

For me, the trick is to make a list of what I love and then find something that represents it.

I almost got cured from my collecting habits today. I was waiting for the Neca ultimate Elder Predator, expecting it to 35, - euros, which I find acceptable and is kinda in line with the price for ultimates in these parts. Maybe stretching to 39,95 eu. I almost got a heart attack seeing it was 59,95 eu. Easy no. Don't need it that bad.

Ok, took the decision to sell all my 1/10 SW statues ( Iron Studios & Kotobukiya).
I think I’ve already sold 50% of all my collection since last October.
This hobby has occupied my thoughts for years and the more I separate myself from objects, the more I have the feeling of getting my head above water and regaining my footing. I'm not ashamed to admit it, but I've really had buying fever over the last few years and I feel like I've healed a little from this addiction.
the goal now is to keep my grails and possibly complete my favorite license.
