About Every six weeks or so, someone will post a thread about having broken Medicom figures, or loose joints, or something to that effect, and people asking for assistance in repairing their now broken treasures. I still remember how hearbreaking it was to remove my Comic book spiderman from his box anf have his hip break allmost immeadiately. As such, I'm creating this thread as a Pictorial "How to" on the dissassembly, and repair of medicom figures in general.

Also, a word of note, I have intentionaly used large photos inorder to help make them very clear, and easy to see.

So, to begin, I'm Going to be using My medicom Stormtrooper, who has a broken shoulder, and my medicom Comic book symbiote spider man who has a broken hip, and needs some modification to his neck joint.

Lets get started. To begin we will use the stormtrooper.
The first thing you need to be aware of is how the figure is dressed, and what is required to get the figure undressed. With the stormtrooper, we have an armored figure. Inorder to get to his broken shoulder we will need to get his armor off. Start by lifting his helmet a little so you can see where his neck attaches to his torso.

Then grab his torso, placing atleast one finger on either side of his neck, gripping the shoulders to secure him, like so:

Then simply, Grab his helmet and head, and pull, it should come off eaisly with a resounding pop.

If you have trouble removing the head, use a hairdryer, or boil some water and dunk the head. Be careful when doing this to armored figures, as the armor medi uses will warp a little. if this happens, simply redunk the warped piece of plastic in hot water, and let it assume it's original shape, and then let the water, and the plastic in it cool. once the water is cool, remove the plastic armored piece, it will have returned to it's original shape.

Moving on We now have the head off our stormtrooper, the torso and shoulder armor are connected, and will eaisly lift off the neck now that the head is removed.

Something i forgot to mention, there is a little rubber neck piece on the stormtrooper, it usualy will come off with the head, if not, simply set it aside for later, and try not to loose it :D

The next step, we see is that our topper is wearing a "rubber" suit under his armor. As we can see, it simply zips up his back with a traditional zipper.

Thankfully, as we only need to gewt to his shoulder, do not need to remove any more of his armor. BUT if anyone needs to know how to do that, simply ask, and I'll add in a section for that later. Moving on, unzip his suit, exposing his back, as you can see, there are three screws holding the front and back sections of his upper torso together.

Before we continue, I'd like to say a few things about the medicom Body. It's a fantasticly poseable figure body, capable of achieveing some incredably Lifelike poses. However, for all it's awesomeness, it's terribly fragle, so you need to handle the figures with care. however, sometimes, even with treating them like they're made of glass, or the dreaded japansese red plastic ( Yes, I'm talking about YOU Comic book Spiderman) Accidents do happen.
Thankfully, ALL medicom bodys are essentialy the same, and chan have parts swapped out between them. The disassembly, and reassembly of all medicom figures is simular, you just need to strip them out of their clothing to get at the screws. Ah, but you say, what about replacment parts? Thankfuly, medicom bodys are easy to come by.
The medicom 301 Kai is the medocm "customizer" body, designed for making your own figures, this can be purchased at numerous onlinbe 1/6 stores, anime stores, and all over ebay for about 45$ give or take, shipping varries depending on where you are in the world. There are two versions, the "muscular body" and the regular body, either one works fine, as all we want are joints here is a picture from actionhq, and they come blister carded.

moving on

Unscrew all three screws in the figures back, and be certian to save the screws, as you'll need them again to reassamble him. Now, with My medi trooper, his screws stay stuck in his back, so I was unable to unscrew him completely, and show the insides of his torso, so I'll put an open torso pic here later.

Pic goes here

And once more for good measure Post Resereved for thread expansion
mods,m I'll delete the posts I don't need once I get the guide up and running. Also, if any mods want to sticky this, I'd be honored.

Oh I'm quite familior with it:) and it is a fantastic resource, but it's not nearly as detailed as I'm intending this to be. I did however Get ALOt of my info from that thread, and from many of the people who posted in that thread, and some people here, in the form of private messages.
