How would you feel about a deluxe line from Sideshow...

I'm with Justin on this. And I believe Sideshow is already doing the fullest treatment with some of their figures. I also think Sideshow is progressively getting better and better with each major release.

And I'm torn about Hot Toy's DX idea because it's annoying to those who bought early and now feel like they got screwed and compelled to buy the new set. Although it's good for people who missed out the first time around and now have the chance to get something even better!

If they want to make improvements on older figures, I would want them to wait til the line is close to being complete, and come back with variations on some of the early figures and give them the "deluxe" treatment at that point. For instance, they can do an improved Jedi Luke with everything he came with the first time, a better headsculpt and add the Endor camo and maybe the handcuffs--and just call it "Endor Luke". Otherwise, revisiting older figures now when we're still waiting on some core characters like the droids and Chewie can be frustrating to a lot of us ("why are we getting ANOTHER Luke when we're still waiting on so-and-so?!?").

And I think they should really consider doing more expansion packs/ accessories like making the Stormie belts available for Han and Luke.

I just started collecting 1:6 scale figure late last year and have been playing "catch up". It was the Proto pics of the Hot Toys Predator 1 and the release of the Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker that made me jump on board.

So I was lucky not to have gotten the V1 of Joker and Batman and shortly after the the BR Joker was released they showed the protos for the DX Joker, so that saved me alot of money for not buying the V1. And I held out on Bats now too since there was rumors that the next DX would be Bats. Which it is.

I might be a lil ticked though if they do a DX Jack Sparrow, since the AWE version was my 1st 1:6 scale figure. BUT if they do a better Johnny Depp likeness with a PERS head and give him more stuff Im all for it.

Im holding out on getting Iron Man now too cause with Iron Man 2 coming and who knows what will get the DX treatment

i'd be more interested in seeing "expansion packs" for figures than "deluxe" versions. That way people can just get the basic figure if they want, or pick up the expansion pack down the road.

IMO the meaning of a "deluxe" Sideshow figure would be the same quality and package as a NORMAL HT figure....

Sideshow Cant do ''deluxe'' in 12'' form IMO..

I've been asking for expansion or accessory packs ever since Sideshow started the line. They could sell EL wire light up sabers this way. I would also be interested in head packs that have characters with different expressions like they did for Han in the stormtrooper disguise. Maybe a 4-pack for $100?

How about this...how about sideshow just strives to put out the best product without having to be a DX next to the name and a price increase...If they had a deluxe line..then I guess the other ones could be a sub par line? The only thing a deluxe line does is line the pockets of the manufacturers and give collectors a headache and an empty wallet.

I would be done for DX version. One thing I would hope SS could improve on is there paint application.

No. They'd just stop offering as many accessories and call them basic and the ones we currently get they'll be called deluxe and priced up accordingly.

Sorry, but their prices are already in "deluxe" tier for me. I'm more a PF collector. These 12" are not very impressive for a majority of the offerings. Now if they got a Max Rebo Band set.... THAT would be something!

None of us have seen the Pers system yet. So it is hard to say if that is worth more money. I ordered the DX Joker, only because I didn't have a joker in my collection. I will be passing on the DX Batman though. I like the one I have enough that I can't see shelling out almost 200 more for a new one.

That said, if SS was to revisit some of the figure I think they botched like ANH Leiah or make a decent Han I would rebuy it if the pain apps were HT quality.
