I know, weird, huh?

It's not shadows either because in hand I can see that it looks pretty dang good. Needs a repaint, but scale and look and the hat all mesh very well with the HT stuff.

Can't say I'm happy about it, but I thought I'd share.

No ball connector, the SS head is just pushed down on the HT neck -- both have ball connectors but I'm not sure if there's any issues there or not. Looks like it would work fine.

Here's some compares with color desaturated or adjusted to help visualize...

For those that love their SS, this is proof that a few HT parts could really improve your fig. For those happy with HT, he does look excellent of course. For those who like to bash the best parts... this may be an option.

Looks good Wor Gar, however can you tilt the head up and down with the SSC head , without the ball joint, I'm trying on mine and it's not the best

The Sideshow hatted head has a great sillouette. I think even if you don't like the likeness the shape is very recognizable.

I hate to be a killjoy, but as much as the SSC hs fits well with the HT body, I just don't see Ford in my attempt.:gah:

It must be my SS jacket or I don't know,:dunno it just doesn't scream Ford to me, I love the Sovereign jacket, so I'm not giving it up, so sorry SSC followers, I have to stick with my revised HT hs.

Overall the SST head on the HT body with clothes looks better proportioned. Ford was scrawny during the filming of Raiders. The HT body makes his shoulders too broad and a stockier appearance overall. The drape of the jacket impacts the correct look significantly. The Sovereign jacket looks great, less bulky, better drape. The HT hat bugs me with the front pinch more like TOD or LC. Great craftsmanship from HT as always but a shame it requires so much customising to get the figure to a closer level of film accuracy.

It's fun and frustrating at the same time for sure, because I like customizing but it's frustrating that HT can get the CR Superman absolutely spot on like this

But they come out with a sculpt and figure like this

But with some patience and customizing we can get something in terms of this

The SST Indy reminds me of this guy with his eyes opened wider...

Look, as much as I dislike SS' Indy overall, I'm not losing sight of the fact that theirs cost $90, and Hot Toys' was $250. You just can't compare them. You might as well say "Hyundai sucks, BMW looks soooo much better"

Received my very first DX figure this week. I really like it. Attached is a few initial pictures of his new home in my display case. Mr. Crumb came by to say “Hi!”!!
