People who like the figure telling people who hate the figure they are wrong, is exactly the same as people who hate the figure telling the people who love the figure they are wrong.

There is no higher ground, it's just opinion.

:lecture
That's what I'm saying, Rory... Let's just respect each other and and realize that there's two very different camps of opinion with this figure, That's all.

Respectfully, I don't think the discussion got out of hand, there was no name calling or anything inappropriate. This release spawned controversy... if there is anyone other than Batfreak out there who likes this figure post pictures and drown out all the 'whiners' :D. nice pics Batfreak(honestly, cool poses, great work) but I'd rather look at your Superman ones (lol sorry it's a joke, i just can't stop).

That's why the customs thread has a much more positive energy, everyone's' helping each other with tips on how to get the figure to a better place.. so at least they like it a little more than they did out of the box!

I agree with Rory's comments. Plus it's all just comments and they have a right to be said either way, positive or negative even if it's been said to death.

A lot of us who don't like it (so that's the majority of us) Still bought it anyway at least at one time and many have done custom work on it.

Also..
To the one guy who doesn't get why someone would pay 300 dollars for an Indy custom when they can get a perfectly adequate on for 250... I rest my case. Honestly, too many thinking that way not to push HT to revise. Im not okay with mediocrity too many things in my collection id weed out the crap and hang onto the gems.

Very well put, guys. Some people have been aggressive and even mean spirited in their positive Indy posts, which then just sets up an antagonistic vibe just begging for a rebuttal. As long as it's kept in a civil and respectful tone, I see no reason why we all can't say our piece, even if we have opposing views.

I've had this since it came out and have been really happy with it. Even bought an extra head and accessories to setup the map room version as well.

Anyway, don't have the greatest camera, but felt like sharing a pic.

Well, mine cost $120 so far. I got the HT release minus the head, body and cardboard backdrop/base - along with a few multiples - for around $100.

I think what is always lost in this discussion is that headsculpt aside, the quality on some of the HT outfit is new gold standard. Boots, hat, gloved hands and pants in particular. Jacket and shirt are terrific also.

Excellent point! I stuck to my original plan and basically bought most of the HT Indy loose parts minus the body/headsculpt and simply updated my Sideshow Indy. Also updated was the horrible Sideshow body to a Soldier Story body. HUGE difference right there.

Another excellent point! I've always been a picky buyer but have ended up weeding out several collectibles that I felt were not worth holding on to. Quality over quantity definitely has its merits.

And by the way, great photos, Bat Freak!

I recently acquired all the Indy clothes and gear minus the sculpt and body. With my new head on the way, I'll have the perfect Indy. HT did a great job with the accessories but that's about it. The way I see it, I saved ~$170 and still getting a more accurate figure. I also agree with Raymond's comment about mediocrity.

That really is the way to go! Are you going with one of the new WGP sculpts?

It can look like he just stepped out of the shower from certain angles, the trick is to constantly futz with the headress to keep the sense of weight.

Looks great, Cavlcade! Great poses!

Did you repaint the head? Because it looks pretty good, especially the eyes!

Only in as much as removing the guyliner, adding red to the cheeks and darkening the beard, so yes I guess.

Looks great Flosi, I didn't soak my kit because I wanted to keep it box fresh. I'm sure MFishers hairspray tip would work really well too.

Thanks, Cavlcade. Yours looks absolutely fantastic!

So what technique did you use for the guyliner removal?

I scraped it off with a scalpel.... but I wouldn't recommend it. It could go wrong quite easily.
