HT Grid Alien Tail

SO I just got my ht grid alien delivered and i love it, except that the wire that is in the tail to give it poseability is sticking out of the side of it. I've tried resetting it but it's torn right through. Is there an easy fix for this(other than just buying a new tail and replacing it)?

Thanks a lot but I ended up getting the rest of him out of the package and one of his legs was broken. I've sent it back and they are replacing it for me. Hopefully this one's tail wont be "battle damaged".
