I am not sure if this has been discussed in detail but with HT announcing the Wolverine license what would be the possibilities of them doing Marvel in general. As I mentioned in the Wolverine thread, I would love a Nova Prime figure with light up capabilities just like the MKIII and figures like Thanos and Blackbolt would be amazing to see. My wallet on the other hand would hate it immensely.

I dont think HT will start doing general Marvel comics characters. It seems to me they get the individual movie licenses instead of the whole marvel universe.

It'd be awesome if they did get the entire Marvel Universe. I'd love some Marvel 12" figures.

I'm also happy they are doing Wolverine, I regretted not getting the X3 one by Medi, so I think I may pick this up.

The Marvel comic license may not be out of the realm of possibilities....Medicom used to have both the Comic and Film licenses and now that we're getting Marvel film pieces from HT, its possible they would go after the other side as well, but looking at the possible film licenses that they could go after on both the Marvel, DC and other comic properties side:

Runaways (2011)
Doctor Strange (2012)
Namor: The Submariner (aka Submariner, 2010)
The Avengers (2011)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Nick Fury (2010)
X-Men Origins: Magneto (2009)
Thor (2010)
The First Avenger: Captain America (2011)
Silver Surfer (2009)
Sin City 2 (2010)
Sin City 3 (2010)
Sgt. Rock (2012)
Spider-Man 4 (2011)
Superman: Man of Steel (2011)
Y: The Last Man (2010)
The Witchblade (2009)
Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam (aka Captain Marvel, 2010)
Luke Cage (2009)
Iron Fist (2012)
Green Lantern (2010)
The Green Hornet (2010)
The Flash (2010)
The Hands of Shang-Chi (2009/2010)
Jonah Hex (2010)
Green Arrow: Super Max (2010)

Its possible that as comic licenses for DC or Marvel aren't even on the table, they wouldn't have to be.... Not to say that HT will go after all of these licenses but its definitely a lot to choose from.

I agree with Nash, I believe the license is tied to individual movies. I will admit a HUGE interest if they could capture the comic license :monkey5

I actually want them to pick up the Marvel comic license more than the movie licenses. I love Medicom's comic figures.

I'd rather have depth than breadth. If HT does all of those licenses, we can expect only the primary characters to be released. Granted, that's what they've been doing now...

HT won't go through all of those licenses. There are some that are too attractive and some that seems a natural move but some like Shang Chi, Namor or Runaways are longshots at best

HT + Punisher = :drool
:monkey3

If Punisher were going to happen it'd have happened by now. With as poorly as the film did at the box office I don't see that as a well that HT dips into.

Need a good movie Spidey, but I don't want to have to wait for Spidey 4 for HT to deliver!

Well...here is the thing. If you study the Spider-Man suits, they've all changed from film to film, slightly but still changes from the webbing patterns to the raised lines to even the spider orientations and placements. So I have no doubt that Spider-Man 4 will have another version of the suit that is still recognizable but still different. This means that HT could provide us the previous costuming and have the differences highlighted sort of like what SSC will do for Vader. It does mean though that they'll have to have had that idea in mind already because with the slate of Marvel films in the next two years they'll be plenty busy.

I like getting figures from the movie that are a little than the regular protrayal, like the MARK II Iron Man and Spidey's symbiote suit from SM3. Getting a WWII Captain America would be super awesome. Unless he just wears a regular military uniform or something in the movie.

Supposedly if they are following the original ideas for treatments the entire Captain America film will be set in 1940 and end with his "freezing". His reappearance into modern society would take place in the Avengers film which is why they are about a month from each other.

I would expect you'd get both a 1940 Cap (whatever that may be most reports have the idea it'd be the Ultimates style) and a Modern Cap which is said to be the traditional look from Hot Toys.

I'm hoping they do an Ultimate style for the WWII version. That was a cool outfit.
