Just to explain a little more:

Extra hand sculpts aren't an "Accessory". They're a "Necessity". Simply because the hands are sculpted and static. Not movable. Also.. you can't do anything with these extra (duplicate) hands once you have 1 set on the figure. Not like weapon accessories, etc.

Just my opinion.

So when you compare the first 3 DX figures and you disregard necessities, here's how they compare to each other:

DX 01 - THE JOKER
  • Full figure with PERS head sculpt (Clown Joker)
  • Extra head sculpt
  • Extra outfit (complete)
  • Handgun
  • Rifle
  • Knife
  • Grenade rig
  • 1/6 scale deck of Joker cards
  • LED Stand

DX 02 - TDK BATMAN
  • Full figure with PERS head sculpt
  • Extra head sculpt (LED Feature)
  • Transformable Sticky Bomb Gun
  • Back Pack (Roof Jump Scene)
  • Mini Mines
  • Grapnel Gun w/removable Holster
  • Utility Belt w/Magnets (Pouches)
  • Utility Belt w/Magnets (No Pouches)
  • LED Stand

DX 03 - MICHAEL JACKSON BAD
  • Full figure with PERS head sculpt
  • Extra Shirt w/t-shirt combo
  • LED Stand

I think it was a good choice (not something I would personally buy though).

Honestly, I don't think it's the choice that's bothering people. I think it's what's being offered.

Compared to a normal HT release, the first two DX Figures are superior as far as what and how much you get. Same can't be said for this third release. Hell, the Thriller MJ figure came with more.

The funny thing though, is that most of the people that are complaining about it, aren't even interested in buying the figure ... :dunno

So? This DX03, buying it or not, has lowered the bar to what to expect from future DX figures that we will be interested in. I liked it when the bar was higher, especially for the money we pay for these :lol

No DX Sparrow please, the outfit was executed well enough and the sculpts are decent enough IMO, though to see this character with PERS and an updated sculpt would be awesome, i can't justify paying another $180 for a figure that will most likely had a reused costume that is better tailored and weathered, just would not seem worth it to me, though i did buy DX Joker..i can't see myself making that kind of purchase again unless its too good to pass up and i really love the particular character they develop again.

If the next movie POTCIV has Jack Sparrow with a different costume, then i would not mind a DX of that, pending my interest in the look of the character.

I think you're wrong about that. Otherwise the title would say, "MJ DX Lite?" It's clearly made from the standpoint of someone with an axe to grind for not getting the DX they wanted to see.

So? Don't like it, don't buy it. Nobody's putting a gun to your head. You have no right to expect more from a company for something you have no intention of buying. And as much as Kuzeh and I don't get along, he's absolutely right. Most of the posts here are from spoiled brats who're posting BS because HT didn't go with an unsellable DX Neo, or another Jack Sparrow, Predator, Terminator Endo, or some other ridiculous want of theirs.

As I've been stating from the getgo, this thread is nothing more than an incessant rant from tittybabies upset that HT didn't make the DX figure something they want. Any idiot with a minute amount of common sense can see that another Michael Jackson figure is a great choice and ATM, is pretty much a license to print money. 5 years from now, when the hype over his death has faded, he might not be as popular so from a business standpoint, this release is extremely tactical.

this thread is awesome :rock

Lets just hope the oil/residue issues continue on this MJ DX figure; it will be very nice to see his hair nice and oily - very much accurate since everyone here is always worried about likeness and HT nailing every aspect and detail. Pftt....

At the end of the day, I think this comes down to the fact that HT wanted to do a googly eyed Michael Jackson. Thus, DX. Like it or not, that and the stand are apparently the only things really distinguishing a DX figure from any other release (though the leaky oily substance could be a neat new addition to the line). If you think HT is going to start skimping out on figures because this MJ doesn't have alternate robot version from Moonwalker or whatever, then I think that's silly. Look at their body of work. This company consistently goes above and beyond expectations, and if this MJ needed an extra head, he would have had one. He doesn't, though, and the two looks (Bad and Dirty Diana) are so similar, that most people picking it up are only going to display one or the other rather than both (more of a necessity with Thriller MJ, hence the extra set of clothes). They can cut costs by releasing what they need to here only, and maybe that will be reflected in extra goodies released alongside future releases that do need them (like DX T-800 from T1 or Rambo).

I am disappointed that HT has chosen an MJ figure for the DX 03. Not because of anything other than I want to get their Reeve Superman and was hooping that it was what was coming next. Oh well, maybe 04 will be Supes.

As far as if this figure should be classified as a DX? Based on the Joker and the Bats, this seems lacking in extras. But, maybe it is just the inclusion of the PERS that defines something as a DX. Regardless, I won't get it, but thats just because I have no interest in an MJ figure.

:lol

He's talking about the DX 02 TDK Batman oily ab issue. Go to the DC section and check it out. Massive mishap from HT. The ab area of the suit leaks out an oily substance on A LOT of the figures. And worst of all: HT doesn't seem to care or consider it a problem.
