Is the dread mod as simple as dipping them in hot water and pulling them down more flush to the face?

I used a hair dryer on mine. Worked fine.

Yup Yup, i did that to all my preds except elder, place the dreads together in the direction you want and then bind them (dun use wire twisters, use a wool hairband), then rinse it with hot water awhile then cold again until you get the style you prefer. Let it dry for a day.

^ Hairdryer is 100x easier, and makes you feel far more safe.
Thats what I've used on all my HT Preds and it's worked out fine.

Good method too!!! I just thought of giving the head a wash to wash away whatever factory oil still present cozz I have seen it turn yellowish on one of my vintage toys before. i think the hardest to get the dreads down for me would be Guardian and Lost lol, they seriously look funky when i first saw them in the trays.

Thanks:hi5:

Hairdryer and no water then?

No worries, you can do both: hair dryer to get the style then to cool down with cold water or leave it alone to cool down. If you are afraid of spoiling the pred head you can immerse it into cold water and then warm water slowly to let it get used to the temperature then hot water or hair dryer. Hope that helps :)
