HT Preds: Which is the definitive Pred

You know what's funny? I wouldn't sell mine for 1000 bucks.
It's just my toy and I want to keep it.

Elder is such a cool predator and i wish i had him but some of the prices on him on auction sites(no names mentioned) are like $750 - 950 upwards. Ridiculous. No 1/6th scale figure is worth that much imo. Then again i totally understand how people who have him or figs like him would never sell for under that so its a catch 22 situation really.

I wish ht would re-release him again with updated features at a resonable price. I'd buy 2 - 3 of him. I wouldn't even care what excuse ht used to re-release him as a dx i.e with fries i just wish they would.

Never liked, and still don't, any of the older AVP HT Predators. However, when that Elder Pred from Predator 2 was shown it screamed, "BUY ME!!!" Now, I didn't preorder it I didn't even buy it right when it came out. Some time down the road I found a deal at $115 and couldn't pass it up. Funny thing is that I bought Cannibal Jack at the same time for the same price and those are my all-time favorite HT pieces.

I recently just bought all my predators from members here except pred 1 and lost and none of them cost near 700$. Just shop around and look for deals.

So gathering by the comments most people would not sell there Elder Predator for 1k or less but on the other hand condone anyone for paying that amount to get one.
There is one on sale by a fellow board member for 300 pounds and that translates to around 700 in my OZ dollars and that's without shipping costs which would be quite large coming from the UK.
I missed the opportunity to buy one when they first came out as I stopped collecting figures and wasn't plugged into what was happening in the scene so the chances of finding one even close to what they were selling for on 1st release would be slim to never. So I missed out and have to pay top dollar, I accept that and move on.
To have the definitive Predator in my collection I don't mind paying $700 as I don't want a army of Predators I just want the most ultimate bad a** that makes me scream **** Yeah!
And that's what I did. I bought the $700 one from Ebay in Hong Kong and it should arrive next week. The rant/justification to myself is over.

Hey man don't feel too terrible I sold my Dr. Doom Ex PF in which I plan to spend $2000 to get it back into my collection. It's 2K but it's what makes me happy at the end of it all.

I would not let current prices get you down... P2 Elder (and most of the pricier HT Preds) seem to have a lot of variation in price. I got mine for $250 (got him and Scar for $500) about 6 months ago... which at the time they were going for $350-$400 in similar condition. I would guess some of the price increase is related to the Xmas season.

As for the original question; I'd agree that the P2 Elder is my favorite.

I have 5 and I would rank them:
1) P2 Elder Predator
2) P1 Predator
3) P2 Regular Predator
4) AVPR Cleaner Predator
5) AVP Scar Predator

Yea hahaha! I was waiting for him to just say: "I'm too old for this ?????." when he was hanging off the side of the building...and throughout the whole entire movie actually.

I thought in fairness that Danny Glover did ok in predator 2. Theres only so much an actor can do when his lines are limited to ' DAMN BIRDS'.... 'SON OV A BEEETCH' 'Danny boy' and 'ehhh heidaman can kiss my a@#@'. Its the script that was poor.

The whole movie was way over the top. Jamacians versus columbians battling it out in L.A? There aren't even enough jamacians in the U.S. nevermind L.A to start a gangwar. The whole story was just too unbelievable even for a sci fi/action movie. The start scene were they are killing all the police and attacking them. Wouldn' they just call in the army/national gaurd if things were that serious instead of sending in waves of police to their doom?


I mean i can buy arnie and a whole squad of elite soldiers getting hunted in a jungle but pred 2 setting was like a different planet. The scene were they are all armed on the subway and the predator just starts attacking them all is another example of the sub par plot scenes. Suddenly he goes from a stealthy sneaky hunter in pred 1 to a homocidial mass murdering alien...lol

The only saving grace for me anyway was the new predator, all his new equipment, some of the action scenes and the backdrop story with the elder and the rest of the clan at the end.

Com'on it's FREAKING ARNOLD that the first Pred went against for god sake.
