Ha! Sorry if you thought its a product announcement. Its not.

There been many post from fellow freaks that express interest and desire for HT taking over the SW license and make 1/6 star wars figures instead of SS. With biggest complain that SS has not deliver any armor figures. IMO, I think HT could make killer armor starwars figure, vader, stormy, clones, boba, etc. However, with the rising prices from HT. (pirate jack and chow fat @ $135 ) Its not a far stretched guess that a full armored figure would go for $140+ would there really be any buyers that would aquire them if HT makes them?

(not to mention medi already makes very decent armor figures and you can usually score them around $100-$115 down the line. )

I wouldnt mind armored figs from HT.

I bet they would be more than the standard $130 that most HTs are. The SW license is expensive and HT would most likely have to raise to price of the figures.

Price is the dominant factor which can (and will undoubtedly) push some collectors out of collecting--- no matter how fervent their desire may be to acquire.

Resistance (to buying SW collections) is futile :borg:borg:borg:borg:borg:borg
Oh, you want me to pay $60 for a zero articulation ewok?... There's a $150 Jar Jar coming?...

Last one turn the lights off. I'm done.:D

HT will not get a SW license. If I'm not mistaken, HT is Hong Kong based... Medicom has the SW license for that region.

I do see a collaboration on armored figs between HT and SS however. I think at this point it is inevitable.

It all depends on the conditions of the Medi license. Hot Toys has a Star Wars license for the Chubby Dolls. If Medicom's contract doesn't guarantee exclusive rights to the overseas market, Hot Toys could expand it's offering.

I'm wondering if it's already happened. Leia Boussh gets delayed a good deal of time, and shortly after shipping, a new body is announced as part of collaboration. I'm wondering just what's going on behind the scenes beyond what we've been told already of their collaborative efforts.

My opinion is that they have been working with HT for a while now. I think it has everything to do with the delay in Leia as Boushh, in 1:6 LOTR and in any announcement re: armoured figs from either SW or LOTR.

Without a doubt (in my mind at least) the HT/SSC collaboration is the explanation for all this and its very very welcome news. :rock

Just imagine a collaborative HT/SSC ROTJ Darth Vader. Beautiful, high quality, accurrate armor, fully removable mask that locks in place well (Medi's lets me down there), and finely tailored clothes via HT, HT/SSC shared base body, and an SSC sculpted and painted Sebastian Shaw HS underneath the dome; that would be a glorious figure to own.

I have a feeling armored SW characters just might be one of the things SSC is working with HT on.

Can the DarkLord please delete this thread. My head just might explode at the words which are feeding my intensity...

Where was it stated that HT and SSC are collaborating?

It was announced during SSC's panel at SDCC. The new 1/6 scale bodies for the Hobbits are the first publicly-revealed collaboration, and it was confirmed verbally by SSC reps that the HT/SSC hybrid bodies will expand to and replace all versions of the Buck body.
