Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

I was eyeing it the other night, there's some white lighting with blue and green strobes, but I couldn't get anything blue at my disposal to get a vibrant glow on the figures so I opted to just use colors I could get to show that had a dance club feel and then add the laser effects.

Hmm...yeah, now that you mention it, I kinda do remember blue and green.

Don't get me wrong--the pictures are awesome. They just remind me of Batman and Robin! :monkey4

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Made a cape, and added it on.

I get what you're saying. For my own tastes I wish I could have gotten a blue light. Maybe I'll try another set and work harder on matching the movie. I did a shot of Batman alone with white and green lighting and the red laser light before that looked really cool and that prompted me to do the laser again. I just love the strobing effect and how he just plows through Maroni's henchmen and I think that scene bests brings back that lurking feel to Batman, he's a presence but you can hardly see him moving through the crowd, more like Begins when he stalked Falconi and Crane's crews.

I just think in general it's a hard feeling to capture in a static photo. That scene mostly has a strobe light effect with a green spotlight randomly moving about but it's never actually on Batman at any point. There's also no red lighting. I tried to capture some screens but again, with static photos + a strobe light they're either gonna be completely dark, or completely lit up.

That particular set of photos from you DO have a Batman & Robin feel to them. But just in general (and remember I've seen TDK + own the DVD) I would've never thought you were specifically trying to mimic that club scene because I've seen you use similar lighting before. Not exactly.. but similar enough that I would just assume they were in the same vein if not for your explanation. And that's the point: that club type of feel imo is hard to convey in a pic sans some kind of prop(s). Like maybe a PS Bar area, or a some type of club/bar background.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Got this figure the other day. And, I got around to opening it up and displaying it in a detolf earlier tonight. I really like it, awesome likeness. Looks great displayed in the glass case.

Next up, original version Joker.

Wwhaat? What did I walk into here. That is just wrong.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Hey guys, I just got TDK bats, and I've been having trouble on attaching my cape, how am I suppose to attach it? The I tried to stuff it in the socket, but it's making the thread and clip start to separate. Any advice?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

Anyone with 2 TDK batmans notice any color diffential between them? I just got a TDKer from the 2nd wave and it seems to be a bit blacker than my 1st wave figure.

Sorry if this has already been brought up, I'm tired and lazy.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

So am I the only one who doesn't have this figure yet, or are there others here who are stuck waiting until the April-June shipment?

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

It's a shame Hot Toys never made the V part on the cape for the back of his neck, which Medicom picked up on that detail. Was that ever brought up?

I need to find myself some good fabric.

I never really noticed this until the other night watching the film again, the back of the neck with that V kept on catching the light that made me spot it.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

The funny thing is, the TDK suit would look more accurrate at the neck cut like the Begins suit's cape, and the Begins suit figure would look better if it didn't have a gap in the back poking out from under the cowl.

Re: The Dark Knight New Costume PHOTO Thread.

all these pictures on this thread make me want my Batman to arrive from STATUETOY.com even more!
