I think it's a really cool project. Whilst 3D is often gorgeous, 2D just has a bigger appeal to me. So I applaud anyone trying to keep 2D animation alive.

However, I'm skeptic on how successful this will be. Whilst they have reached their goal, that's no guarantee that they'll be able to successfully pitch this to a studio. Most likely, they'll just be able to create the short and that's it. Still, I wish them all the best.
