Yeah, that's not the shot I was referring to, though. It supposedly didn't use any of the original film elements at all. Just totally redone, like the shot of Ben's house in ANH. As far as I know, this has never seen the light of day.

steveo: On the one on the bottom, the landscape in the background shifts perspective as the camera follows the falling car.

Raiders of the Lost Ark Extends Its IMAX Theatrical Run
September 14th, 2012

Due to its overwhelming response in IMAX theaters, Raiders of the Lost Ark will now be extending its one-week run beginning Friday, September 14, and will play in over 300 digital theaters across America.

"The re-mastering efforts by Steven, George and their team were incredible and the movie's hugely successful run in Imax last week was a sure sign that audiences were excited to see the film again on the big screen," said Rob Moore, Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures. "We are thrilled that audiences will have that chance again as part of this extended theatrical run."

Under the supervision of director Steven Spielberg and sound design extraordinaire Ben Burtt, Paramount's first Indiana Jones film was meticulously restored for its theatrical re-release.

Spielberg may no longer be a digital revisionist but I noticed that the IMAX showing still had Indy's reflection digitally erased when he's facing the snakes.

Seriously? I haven't heard any reports of the attendance topping 15 people in a single showing. :lol My showing only had about 9 people, my wife and I included...

About 20 in the auditorium when I went. And it had the highest per screen average of all movies last weekend. What a dismal month. :lol

On its opening weekend (last weekend) Raiders had a per-screen average of around $6300 - which is fairly healthy. A red-hot, lined up around the block release might have around $14,000, but many wide-release blockbusters have had averages not that much above $6300 on opening weekend and been considered successes.

This weekend it has dropped pretty precipitously though.

My theater was packed on Sunday night at 7pm. 300 people at least.

Awesome, glad to hear it! I was a little disappointed to read/experience the low attendance.

Be thankful you get the opportunity to see it on the big screen. There are no screenings here in Australia.
