I asked Greg if we would see at least the other half of the Angel team. This is what he said to me:

Buffygirl - some of our plans aren't always able to be realized and we regret dropping some announcements as much as you do. There may be some point to be able to go back and revisit Angel in the future.

Also, he said NO firefly stuff is in the works at all.

And the new sculpt was asked about:

Greg: Internal discussions on how to reveal our future Buffy plans. Stay tuned!

Awww I was hoping the new Buffy line would be announced during Spooktacular :( No surprise there with Angel, we know it's a dead line.

A shame about Firefly, tho not at all surprising.

I do wish someone had asked why tho, is it a license issue, isn't the movie Serenity, easier to get then the TV series (still the same characters, etc). Or does he think there isn't enough demand for 12" and PF's (what QMx make seem to be selling pretty well) or is there some other reason.

I imagine that he doesn't think that there's enough demand to warrant them spending out on such lines.

Yes, we always knew they'd finished with the Angel line, but It's a shame that they never got around to finishing and releasing that Wesley figure that they were working on shorty before the line was dropped.

I wonder when they'll have more news about this other proposed Buffy stuff?

It was very hard to get him to answer one thing, let alone answer something from the same person again. A lot of people typed in FIREFLY! When it was brought up. He can see there's interest. Sigh.

I was a little disappointed with the lack of any Firefly product annoucements. :(

..but guess what ....more Iron Man/Predator lifesize busts, 1:2 scale statues and other stuff that I don't have space for.

It's a shame that they don't want to release at least 12 inches figures of Wesley, Fred and Gunn for Angel, and Anya, Tara and Dawn for Buffy. I would have bought them, and a lot of them would have do the same !

guess the fact that razors edge was (maybe still is)drowning in mal minibusts wasn't much of an endorsement to get more stuff made.

It doesn't help that the RE Mal bust looks like just about any random white guy. I was crazy for some Firefly merch when that came out and even I skipped it.
That said, SSC's lack of interest makes sense. If the Buffy and Angel lines couldn't stay afloat it's unlikely Firefly would be any less frustrating for them and us.

However Greg knows that the right product for Serenity Firefly can fly. I was told by a couple of SSC employees at SDCC that the Serenity model was one of the most popular and "ewwed and awed" over item at the SSC booth.

Which is kinda my point, high-end quality is much more likely to sell.
I know I'm looking forward to some 'ewwed and awed'ing once my Serenity replica arrives.

I say we keep bothering them about Firefly/Serenity, since it keeps getting asked at every big Q&A. At some point they'll get tired of us asking and will do something about it.

Sure some of the firefly/serenity stuff hasn't sold that well, but when things like this ( https://store.quantummechanix.com/quotShinyquot--Little-Damn-Heroes-Kaylee-Animated-Maquette_p_40.html ) can sell out, I think more high-end quality items would still sell. The Serenity replica seems to have sold pretty well and you don't get much more high-end then that.

The maker's website is not a good example. I know those Kaylee maquettes have been discounted greatly to get them to move. That is never a good sign. The best way to tell an item is selling well is if it's easily sold on eBay for retail or more.

Sounds like a plan to me, they got to give in at some point in time.

That's not a bad theory, except its hard to tell if they are selling on eBay for retail or more, since none are listed at all, that I can find.

I think I will forever be heartbroken that SS didn't produce a 12 inch Illyria, I think she would have been most awesome. A PF Illyria makes me drool a little.

All I care about is the new Buffy statue line...assuming it is statue line or even a dio line. I feel bad for the 1/6th collectors but I never got into the Buffy/Angel 1/6th stuff so not a big deal to me.
