I know this type of thread comes up every couple of months but I felt like making another one. I just canceled some more things and I feel great about it. I still love this stuff but now I have my addiction more under control then ever before. I feel like I have come a long way and still have quite a bit to go but nonetheless, this is progress!


I hope my peeps are doing well too with keeping our promises to each other(P!tu, Jen )


Either way, I still thinks it's funny how the few things I have in my Sideshow account and preorder list add up to so much $$$.

I too am trying to handle my SS addiction and am doing better than last year.
I am considering canceling a few on my list right now.
I feel great about it too! But I just had some champagne so that could be the reason.
Current cancel list is Bronze Dooku dio and Palpatine set. With shipping and fees it is just too expensive to get the dio. Even if I flipped it I would not be able to cover all of my costs so it will probably be going.

I cancelled a bunch of crap. All I've got left on order for this year so far is SSC Frodo and HT Cannibal Jack Sparrow. Gonna try to keep it to only the most essential pieces from now on.

Ha ha, I have been analyzing every item in my account and just thinking over whether or not I can live without it and if I really need it. You have to determine what's important to you and then stick to it.

When, I started collecting I thought that $50 for a 12" figure was insane. Now I don't have any problems dropping $300 on a silly statue. The meaning of the $ changed for me and now I am trying to bring myself back to reality.

That's where I'm at right now. When I started collecting 1/6, I was picking up figures for about $30-$40 and I thought that was high-end at the time, now I'm willing to drop $125-$140. I gotta get that **** in check!

Since I canceled my Biker Scout PF, I've felt completely comfortable with my preorders. Even the looming arrival of the Anakin and Aragorn PFs in Q3 can't touch me at this point. All that's left are the upcoming SW figs, and those are just a drop in the bucket, comparatively speaking. It's the PF addiction that I need to get under control, personally.

What I really need to do is to figure out how to bring myself to part with some of the statues that I own. There are so terribly many. I have to start rotating them. Angel is still in a box in the basement, for crying out loud...

Great topic Rory. I'm about to cancel a few things too, just need to get around to finally doing it. For some reason, I thought I needed a Robocop PF or a Lara Croft PF; they'll be the first to go I think. About a year ago, prior to collecting, I was very fortunate and money wasn't that much of an issue. But now, with this new hobby, I cringe every time I have to pay bills. Trying to maintain a zero CC balance is getting tougher and tougher to do.

Theres a point where you have to be happy with what you have and just stop collecting.Or continue the cycle of selling off old **** for new ****.

Once i figure out what all i want in my collection i'll just stop one day and say thats all i need.Problem is cool **** just keeps coming out.

I canceled my Star Wars pre-orders but I don't feel too bad about it because I ordered some Patron. Maybe I'll start collecting Patron bottles instead...

im seriously considering cancelling my thing exclusive as i've never been a fan of the FF so he's not gonna be missed. he was just an impulse buy to be honest.
