..to a toy dealer here in Montreal, yes even The Hulk PF....I'm going all Bowen as of now..The reasons : They display better, are detolf friendly, less expensive, more choice of characters, Bowen is not afraid to re-visit the same characters if a new sculpt is needed and now Sideshow distribute them for international customers like me.... The Planet Hulk imminent release was the final straw....Bowen gets my money from now on....

So long Sideshow and thanks for all the giant brown shipper boxes...:monkey4

Gutsy move. You've never been one to worry about going against the grain and that's why I like you... but if history shows anything(and it ALWAYS does) you'll be back eventually!:D

I'm hoping to get to hear a just kidding at the end of this.....If not though, I give you credit for going against the curve. I love my Marvel too much to give up my SSC.

Good luck with the Bowen Shai. There have been times when you said you were only collecting the Hulk - then I noticed more Marvel characters slipping in......:lol Bowen has some really great stuff coming out - and aside from the Sideshow Hulk, I don't think you will regret the move....

you listed all perfect reasons and those were the reasons I was going to mix and match SS and Bowen but once I had Hulk(back) and added Wolvie, their size and details made me go all SS...but if all you have displayed is Bowen then you won't have that problem.

Cool, BD makes some killer stuff for sure, and you've got some catching up to do. The SSC dios go very well with the BD stuff as well, so you could always dabble back into SSC to go with your Bowen collection.

For you folks that think Shai doing something outlandish here, you may be a bit sheltered by hanging out here at the freaks board. In the comic collectible community, Bowen has been around for a long time, and is still just as popular as ever (just maybe not so much on this message board). Most of the customers at my LCS are mainly Bowen collectors.

It is a bold move to dump a line, but it's also liberating in a lot of ways, so congrats Shai! So what's your first Bowen piece going to be, classic Hulk?

Hell, my local comic shops just started carrying Sideshow. They have always had tons of Bowen stuff.

....I just collect both...F my wallet.

I predict we see a

"I'm Back"

thread from Shai in the Marvel section in less than 6 months.

I also predict that JBinny will have switched from LOTR back to Marvel, and thinking about goign back to LOTR around this time as well.

Funny thing is that with Sideshow, the collector in me felt like buying every pieces they put out..But with Bowen, I dont have that urge..I'm buying only the statues I really like, so yes, it is very liberating.

And Shark, I already own the Hulk by Bowen...I want a Thanos...:rock

i did the oppsite i sold my bowen and kept what i like.. i the thing i like about SS is the scale, after you have a room full of bowen they all start to look like mcfarlane figures. I can see why you sold though bowen has really stepped up there game in the present phase there doing.

Yes i do own thanos.. and juggy thats all the bowen you'll need.

Yeah, I hear you bud. With BD's extensive line, it would be crazy to try and be a completist. I mainly go for villains and the heavy hitter heroes myself, no way would even dream of having them all (nor would I want them all).

Get Thanos, he rocks! I still need that damn Hulk myself.... I HAVE to get one before Abomination is released. Mistress Death should be showing up any day now, she's gonna look sweet paired up with Thanos (and she has a nice price tag too at only $100 or so).

For me it's been the opposite as well. I've slowly been getting rid of my Bowen stuff, and transitioning to having some definitive SS pieces. It was easier a few years ago to keep up with Bowen, but these days he releases so much stuff (which isn't a bad thing) that I couldn't keep up with it anymore. And unfortunately, I'm an all or nothing guy.

As far as space is concerned, I've had more trouble with so many Bowen pieces adding up. I'm still keeping some pieces, and I have the goal in the back of my head to have every FS Marvel he's put out. I just decided that's a goal for another time.

Which Bowen is that?
