Alright, as a kind He-Man was my most favorite cartoon and is still my most favorite to this day. I loved it so much so as a kid that my grandmother(who's no longer with me) found a life size (it was life size when I was like 7) pillow thing and made one for me. I kept that thing out for years and even as I got older my grandmother would go looking for another but could never find one.

Anyways, back on topic. When He-Man went off the air I can remember being very sad as a little kid. I kept hoping for years they would put He-Man back on TV. Then one night I was at Target with my folks and saw some new He-Man toys. I was really excited because I knew this meant he was finally coming back on air even if he DID look different. I pretty much watched every episode of the new stuff and enjoyed it as much as I did the older style when I was a kid.

Then last year at SDCC Adam, Matt, and I where walking around just looking at all the stuff. We happened to go to the NECA booth to take a peek at the Balrog. Then I saw it a He-Man statue of the new design but it was He-Man! I told Adam I wanted that as badly as I wanted any collectible because of the personal ties to He-Ma I had. Well, I hadn't heard anything back for a very long time from Adam and I just assumed NECA decided not 2 put it out. Then about two months or so ago he sent me a PM saying that his order was being fulfilled and that I would be getting it. I was very excited of course but still knew NECA could axe it or whatever. Another month went by and nothing then I got another PM from Adam saying it just showed up. He shipped it two me and BAM! Yesterday, He-Man arrived and is now among my collection.

It's #267/750 and looks great. Sure, it's not the Original design but it's He-Man and the personal ties that go with the character out weigh anything in the change of design.

So thnx Adam for the help in getting me this item.

Very cool Josh!! Congrats on getting the He-Man statue!

Looks like we both went through the same thing when we were kids with the original Masters Of the Universe going off the air. It's nice seeing new He-Man product out there now even if it's stylized differently.

Thnx!! Yeah, I'm also excited that there will be an exclusive He-Man statue for SDCC in the original colors.

Not into the new look they've been giving He-Man, but cool for you if you like it, congrats!

I'm still a huge fan of 80's cartoon series and own the DVD's for the original He-Man, She-Ra, Blackstarr, and Dungeons & Dragons series, plus the original Transformers movie.

That said I can't say I'm into the reimagined He-Man from 2002. However Josh if you weren't aware you'll probably be pleased to know that the 2002 series is soon coming to DVD as well:

Congrats on your purchase.

I saw that and have been keeping track. I'll get it just for my love of He-Man more than anything.

Thanks for the kind words guys. :duff

I would *love* it if Mattel allowed a company to produce a statue based on the original He-Man design, either the Filmation cartoon version or something from the vintage toy box art:

that would be freakin' awesome. *goes to the basement to unpack He-man figures*

i do like the statues, even if they are not old school designs:

I used to like He-Man alot also. Nice pick up Josh.

And, yes, I agree Adam is top-notch. He has helped me out as well more then once...

:clap

They did some Repro figures of He-Man's classic days in like 200/2001 (?) they were packaged the same too, except there was an additional 2 outer package stating they were reproductions. Kinda cool. I wish we could get some prints of the original fantasy paintings for the packages.

congrats josh. very nice. adam is definitely a good guy to get stuff from. and you'll find his prices compete with the best of them.

That's awesome Josh!! Although it's not the He-Man we grew up with, I must admit I like the modern design a lot more than the 80's counterpart. I love the cartoons, but Prince Adam's/He-Man's haircut kills me! :lol

80's Cartoons!!! :rock

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I'd love it if the did a statue based on the old cartoon as well. I'd pick that up in a second.

Here's the exclusive they're doing at SDCC.

Yeah, I would.

Do you have any of the reissue box sets that came out a few years ago??

I have an TRU exclusive that has I think 5 figures from the original toy line, its pretty cool.

I have a reissue of the He-Man that I bought at Wal-Mart. It was like $15 bucks or something like that.

I heard (I think it was at AICN) that a new He-Man movie is in the works and they want to give it a darker tone a la LOTR. Anyone else hear this?

(and nice pick-up Josh...)
