I heard (I think it was at AICN) that a new He-Man movie is in the works and they want to give it a darker tone a la LOTR.
They better make it darker, the 80's movie blew balls!

(and nice pick-up Josh...)

I heard that. Kind of exciting just to have a new one coming. Though, I did like the 80's version as well.

Given the technology of today, a new He-Man live film could exist in Eternia and deliver some great visuals where the 80s film went the He-Man in our world route most likely to save budget on the Eternia they couldn't create at the time. However, I'm with you Josh, the 80s was great to watch, I actually mean to get the DVD of it, the final battle with He-Man and Skeletor was great, thought I was dissappointed a bit cuz they set it up for a sequel that never came to be.

I think us 80's kids (and I mean those of us who were born in the 70's but lived our kid toy lives in the 80's) are really going to enjoy the movies in the next few years--- gee-- I wonder if that's cause we've now got the disposable income?:D

Targeting anyone Hollywood?

I agree. I think with what they can do today a He-Man movie would be even cooler because they can capture more of what we saw in the cartoons. I'm like you I keep meaning to get the old movie on DVD. I just might do that tonight actually it won't be that expensive. I wish they had made a sequel but if they do make this new one that will make up for it.

Ah it's not that bad. It's not that great either but I still like it. :)

I know, I watched it again about 3 years ago, there are some fun parts, but in general its hard to watch.

Kinda like fat chick porn.

Yes, it was reported in Variety about a month or two ago. I think Joel Silver will be producing and they mentioned that they'd probably do it in a visual style similar to the movie "300". That actually could be quite awesome.

Congrats on the pickup.
I too am a person who was born in the late 70's and collected toys in the 80's and loved the early 80's show as well as the He-Man/She-Ra Movie.
I thought the Dolph Lungren movie was ok but my parents liked it more than I did.
I thought the original cartoon was great, but the one from 2002 blasts it out of the water. I wish that series was still going, Hordak and the Horde were going to be the villains for a season and they say She-Ra was going to make an appearance before it was cancelled.
This show dove deep into the MOTU mythos, it talked about Man-At-Arms really being Teela's father and explained why Adam goes "By the Power of Grayskull" when he transforms into He-Man, and I will give you a hint, it has nothing to do with the Castle.
Another re-vamp that was better than the original - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If you love Turtles, check out the 2003 series.
I love this He-Man and am glad that his stuff is still coming out. I cannot wait for the 2002 series to come out on DVD.
Once again, kudos to you Josh for your great taste in figures.

That's a great statue Josh! MOTU is one of my favorite properties. :rock

I had one myself but I had to sell it when my truck died on me and I had to replace it. :(

For all your He-Man and the MOTU news check out https://www.he-man.org the biggest and best He-Man site on the internet.
