:lol I was thinking Hatch base too. Basically blow up the McFarlane set up to 1:6 scale is my plan.

With a clear resin window that could be lit with an LED!!! Come on, we have the perfect head, why not the perfect base?

Lets get Andy or someone else that can sculpt get on that! :whip

The LED would really make the display go from a cool base, to an amazing base. Much like the Godfather's newly added base is much classier than the plain old black ones.

So far, I'm happy with the outfit and gear!
Sorry for the crappy pics...

Hey gang, I've been experimenting a bit with some translucent flesh tone resin, and I think I finally got a color that I like. Now if only I could paint these! :)

Just sick, Andy. Can it get any better? I think this is some of your best work.

Did you have to custom mix a tint? I've found that's what I've had to do, but it's a pain to get consistent from cast to cast. I suppose careful measurements are the way to go. Any tips?

God I love this sculpt. :banana

That's an impressive outfit, Kuzeh!

Thanks dude! The good thing about Locke is that he had different combinations of outfits... I like it so far too!!

Looks great! Where'd you get the backpack and brown boots?

I got the backpack and boots at a swap-meet, I'm not sure what figures they are from... but I know the boots are from Hot Toys, as they attach with pegs, they aren't hollow, so won't work on other bodies. It might work with the Pro though... I'll have to try...

Holy crap!!
That looks amazing!!!
Are those going to be available too?...
Wow!!!!

BTW Andy, this sculpt is THE MOST AMAZING headsculpt I've seen EVER!!!
Seroiously!!!
It's a work of art!!!

Thanks guys!

EC--- I did have to custom tint it. It took a little practice but was easier than I expected. I also added some red flocking, which doesn't show up much in these pics but adds a LOT of realism in person. As for consistency, I added the tint to the entire "B" jug of resin, so every batch I pour will be the same (until I order a whole new batch of resin of course).

Kuzeh--- I don't think these will be available, but maybe that's a better question for Mike....? I'd be happy to custom tint a batch of resin for him if he wants to release a limited run of flesh colored Lockes or somethin'.

That flesh colored Locke does look great. Of course you had to come up with that AFTER we all got our Locke heads. Have you been taking lessons from Hot Toys? :lol

lol... Good point. Maybe I'll keep this as a one-of-a-kind, so Mike doesn't get bombarded with customers requesting an exchange. :)

Glad you guys like him!

Andy this is amazing. I have to say that this about the best sculpt I've ever seen. I'm wishing I had gotten two so that I could leave one raw.

Andy,

Can you sculpt a hatch base to go with Locke? I will give you my first born child in exchange. Thanks.

Here's a quickie.... Bear in mind that I am NOT a painter! So go easy. :) This was quick and sloppy, it looks pretty messy in person. After painting it, I think the flesh resin is indeed too translucent. A little more opacity and I think it would be just right.

p.s. I cheated and added the eye glint in photoshop (didn't have any gloss coat on hand). ;)
