I might have broke my Aragorn :(

Hey

Earlier today I managaed to smash up my excl. Aragorn, the necklace snapped off, I fixed it and everything but when I tried to pop the head off the whole neck area smashed to pieces!

Now what should I do? There is a plastic piece inside of Aragorns neck that goes down to the neck. Are there any spare parts I can buy?

I would just get a new buck body. Or upgrade it to HT true type.

that's horrible. sounds like you might need to find a whole new buck body. and you will have to try to get the broken pieces out of his neck. what the heck were you doing to it?

I just pulled the head off and kabang, plastic pieces went all over the room.

How do I take the plastic bit out of his head?

is any of the plastic sticking out of the neck so you can get a grip on it with something like a pliers? if not you might have to try to drill out the plastic piece. you can try boiling the head to make it softer or heat it with a hair dryer.


ps. in the future dont try to remove SS heads without heating them up. they will almost always break.

HT = Hot Toys True Type. The Bronze body should fit the paint apps on his face and its a better body. You would need to buy the right neck adapter though.

No. My preferred method is sticking the head in boiling water for 60 seconds. Pull it out and POP comes off with no damage and no problems.

Not unless you use a blowtorch to heat it.

I use the hairdryer method myself. Just heat up the head til the plastic softens up, and then carefully pop the head off. You have to be careful though, because it can still break on you if you're too forceful with it.

As for your broken Aragorn, I've had the same thing happen, and you'll just have to replace the body. There's prettty much no way of fixing the neck once that happens.

Ok, so now the plastic joitn is out after using the boiling thing

I got a deunan knute figure but there you snap the head on a long stick.

Might have to search now for a body, wish me luck

that body might work with the head but i dont think his hands will. just find a cheap buck body somewhere. try https://https://toyanxiety.com/. they sell a lot of nude sideshow figures with a head still on. just find a cheap one and boil it's head off and replace it with aragorns head.

Whats funny, but also sad, is that every time I see a thread like this 1) the figure is broken and 2) its always from someone trying to remove the head.

Its like some kind of right of passage that collectors need to break at least one figure before finding out about the heat and pop methods. I messed up the neck on my Mr Brown Palisades figure

well i haven't broken one yet but my aragorn's necklace got caught down in the neck joint and i couldnt get the damn thing out. the chain ended up snapping but i was able to reconnect it without removing the head. it took a very long time and very steady hands though.

i hope it all works out for you man. i know id probably cry if i broke my aragorn as he is one of my favorite figures.

As to the necklace, I highly recommend gluing it to the body at four points to keep it from falling into the cavity. That also saves you the touble of repositioning it all the time.
