Someone brought this up before. But extremely hard to enclose due the curves in the frames to top and legs

:borg "Resistance is futile"

Even better if this was a bit wider ...would have been perfect. :gah:

...maybe it could work if you displayed the Tumbler with a slight slant. :dunno

:)

So, out of everyone who has done this mod to the table, how much would you say you spent total completing it?

Managed to finish my display yesterday! All I need now is to figure out what to do for lighting.

Scribing the plexiglass was a pain! I dropped the magazine rack lower so I wouldn't have to make extra cuts for the side panels...or so I thought. Was off by maybe 3/4". :slap

All that aside, I had fun doing this project!

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it. Figurefreaks, I think we should all be thanking you for starting all this!

Fort Max will be a placeholder I think until I my DX-11 comes in. I can't wait to put the interrogation backdrop to use. :impatient:

No one can tell me what they spent total doing the mod, outside of the cost of the table?

Sorry man. I basically followed Ironed's guide:

  • 3 pieces of 8' aluminum trim ( ~$21)
  • 2 sheets of acrylic glass .093x28x30 + .093x32x44 (~$90)
  • 1 acrylic cutting tool (~$6)
  • 1 Bullnosed MDF board 5/8" x 15 1/4" x 96 " (~$15)
  • 1 pkg double-sided carpet tape (~$5)

Plus I had to spring for a dremel. Got all this at Home Depot. I just had to be careful when scribing the plexiglass. Getting it clamped down with a straight edge is a must. Makes things so much easier.

Hope this helps.

You know the reason why no one can really tell you is that there isn't a ball park per say. Each granas will cost different and the materials involved. Some use the acrylic while some use glass like mine.

I got lucky and found one on Craigslist, try that first, only set me back $40. I'm working on mine and will post pics once ready.

May I ask how much you spent on glass on yours?
